Sayin is really good but as a Cards fan after 7 years of Murray I'm not sure I want another small QB, he's taller than Kyler of course but he's still small. Definitely accurate.

Tate is interesting great college WR but nobody has any idea what his 40 time is. If you google it you get 4.6 as an estimate which obviously would almost assuredly keep him out of the first round. Big tough guy competes for the ball and catches the ball with his hands. But for him it's going to be all about how he runs.

I think it's pretty unlikely we take a WR early in the draft if we didn't do it this year when it seemed obvious, seems unlikely we will next year so I'm looking at 3rd round or later guys
Sayin is listed at 6'1 208. That is on the small side. He'll probably get bigger body-wise but it'd be ideal is he was 6'3. He's still bigger than Mayfield though. Murray is just too small and many of us said that from the get-go.

I'll have to try and find out about Tate's speed. OSU doesn't usually put guys out there that aren't fast. Egbuka is really surprising me on his NFL start. I didn't think he'd much of a factor at all.

The OSU WR corp in the NFL is tearing it up. Wilson, Olave, JSN, Egbuka are all productive as hell. Sad thing is, Harrison is better than all of them. The difference is their teams target those guy 10+ times a game. Marv might get that in 2-3 games.

No. The last Ohio State QB I endorsed was Haskins. I didn't like Stroud that much coming out. Fields was always going to be a project.
I normally dog on Ohio St QBs because I think they play about 2 real contests every year and overwhelm inferior competition. But Sayin is spectacular looking.

A QB to keep an eye on is Marcel Reed. He gets better every single week. His arm is spectacular and he is fast. His accuracy has been the issue, but like I said, he gets better every week. I think he compares to Jayden Daniels. He sold me on his potential when A&M got the ball with two minutes to go at Notre Dame stadium and he drove them down the field to throw a TD on 4th down with 13 seconds left. I have nothing about him coming out this year and I do hear things about the Aggies.

Also, the best QB in college football is Julian Sayin.
He has great receivers but doesn't miss a throw. I just not sure what his arm strength is. I think it's plenty good but he throws such a smooth ball and quick release that it's hard to tell.
That throw on the first touchdown yesterday was insane!!

Against little sisters of Madison. Haha jk jk
That is what I have always said about Ohio St. Their non-conference schedule is always a joke and then they beat up on the perpetual dregs of the Big 10. Always have elite WRs. That's why I think their QBs tend to look better than they really are.

But Sayin does LOOK good

Maybe Monti realizes his error in doing nothing with the wide receiver room last off season. In any event, our next wide receiver needs to have speed, be a legit deep threat.

This class isn’t good. I like Simpson the most and he has 7 career starts. Sellers should transfer to a better program. Mendoza is fine QB with limited upside. The top-2 guys coming into this season were Nussmeier and Klubnik who look like day 2 guys. I hope a few of them go back to school for another year.
I would like Sellers a lot more if I had the ability to give him the Jordan Love treatment. Not his fault but he just needs a lot of NFL passing work. Maybe they all do tho.

Sellers is Josh Allen coming out of Wyoming part II --

but you dont know if the passing accuracy will show up like it did with Allen

It's not just the throw, but look at the mobility and hit quarterback Sam Leavitt took to deliver the pass.

He keeps his eyes downfield.

there is a lot to like here

the question on Leavitt is if he can process from the pocket--

just feel like its a lot of chaos with Sam sometimes

The Sun Devil offensive line is mediocre at best on a good day, thus he is forced to scramble.

Given time, I think he is a good passer.

my official one game scouting report on this years QB class:

BAD.

Mendoza is probably the best. He goes #1 to the QB needy team.

but after that...

Ty Simpson looks like Mac Jones to me. Good processor, but (probably) below average NFL arm strength and the accuracy comes and goes. the Brock Purdy experience probably gets him drafted top 5 but likely TEMU Kirk Cousins.

John Mateer of Oklahoma -- kind of a sling-y low throwing motion (comes out low), accuracy looked all over the place and a lack of touch.

LaNorris Sellers-- no where near an NFL passer.

finally: Sam Leavitt. you love his athleticism and fearlessness (not just running, but taking hits to deliver passes) but its resulted in him missing time. An NFL team can rein in that part of his game, but what are you left with after that?
