Bears would be crazy to stick with Fields. Too many bad games and now injuries to count on him. A great scenario would be for the Bears to end up with like 3 and 5 and the Cardinals to trade #1 for both picks.
Find it hard to believe the Cards stick with Kyler if we got the #1 pick. That means Fields won games and Kyler didnt win enough.*Also the Panthers didnt win*

Deshaun Watson(when he was good) played like a top 5 QB while the Texans still finished with a bottom 3 pick. QB is by far the most valuable position on team, that doesn’t mean it’s the only position on the team.

Yes. I'm really interested to see how much of the defense's overperformance is because of coaching/scheme, having better-than-expected talent, or just game scripts where teams aren't really feeling pressured from behind.

Yes, but the Texans were also in shambles so bad they fired/let go of 2 coaches. Are you assuming the Cardinals are going to be that incompetent elsewhere?

Most people here assume if we had just above average QB we'd already have 3 wins. So again if Kyler plays well that should equate to wins.

Time will tell.

Doesnt mean they have to stick with Fields. They can draft a QB at the top of the 2nd round. Maybe get in the Kirk Cousins bidding (obviously risky as well) or another QB.

Has been extraordinary great in the second half of the game when the matches were almost over

In our case winning 4 games isn’t getting a top-3 pick though.

Here's The Athletic's updated projections after week 9:
TeamProjected WinsPlayoff Chance
1. NY Giants3.70.0%
2. Carolina -> Chicago3.80.2%
3. Arizona4.30.2%
4. Chicago4.90.8%
5. New England5.00.2%
6. LA Rams6.68.6%
7. Las Vegas6.71.7%
8. Tennessee7.15.8%
9. Washington7.213.8%
10. Denver7.35.1%
What a difference a week makes - Daniel Jones going down and Murray returning gives the Giants the best odds at the #1 pick, and drops the Cardinals to #3, where at least they're set up to take Harrison Jr.

Caleb Williams is going to go #1. There’s little doubt about that.

Despite what people say on here, he’s super talented.

Whether it’s the Cards taking him or not is the question.
Talent won't mean much if he's a head case.

Ideally Kyler balls out but we still have the top pick. Bears want CW bad but so do other teams and we end up getting both Bears top picks. Then trade the 2nd overall for whoever wants Maye (NE). Then draft MHJ, Fashanau (sp??), then DL with Texans pick and have a couple/few 1sts next year also. That’s my pipe dream anyway

This is the tough thing, right? Do you hit the "easy" button for your QB and let him rack up all the stats in the world, win a ton of football games, get picked high, and then maybe struggle at the next level?

It's not really Lincoln Riley's main job to ensure Caleb Williams walks into Halas Hall as a polished professional quarterback. If that happens and the Trojans go 4-8 (or however many college football games there are now), he's going to get fired.

Similarly, if Caleb Williams goes to, like, Kentucky and polishes all his skills doing hard QB stuff but goes 8-4 while completing 68% of his passes and a 3:1 touchdown-int ratio, he's not getting picked #1 overall.

Yup. What it takes to be a great QB at the college level doesn't necessarily translate to what it takes to be great in the NFL. Hopefully people start recognizing this.

Not sure what you mean by “excuse”. Coleman is good but nobody considers him a can’t miss/elite prospect. He’s not really a quick twitch guy.
This guy is the whole package. The first 3 games FSU threw everything to Wilson. 6’7” target, why not. Once the figured out Coleman he immediately became an impact WR. He’s not flashy, just good. He’ll start from game one no matter where he goes.

Looks like the NFL will approve declared underclassmen to play in all-star games.
If they earn the #1 or #2 pick, I hope the Cards accept the invite to coach the Senior Bowl. Really good opportunity to find lesser-known prospects, especially when you're still trying to build a culture.

So he's basically calling out Kyler. Maybe even Kliff since he was on the Cardinals in 2019

Also possible he's trying to make waves
