So the Padres owner dies and now a fire sale

That is a massive overpay for Soto. He has 1 year on his deal.

My Yankee buddy is mad about it. If he doesn't resign it's a disaster. Also, by spending that much on a 1 year deal you basically have to overpay to keep him.

ESPN gives the Yankees a B grade and the Padres get an A-.
I'll have to find it, but I saw a video earlier this morning for someone broke down the fact that Soto with the Yankees may not turn out as good as everyone thinks. Basically saying that Soto was his best in San Diego when he stopped just trying to pull the ball and started using the middle and left side of the outfield to drive balls... But that the short porch and right field in Yankee stadium may entice him into his old bad habits of just being a pull hitter which makes him more susceptible to pitchers getting him to strike out.
