As anticipated, Joey Chestnut emerged as the victor of the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest yet again in 2026, his 18th career victory in the event. With his 66 hot dogs consumed, "Jaws" finished No. 1 in dominant fashion.

With Chestnut's latest win, however, also comes financial benefits. The winner at Coney Island does take home a cash prize.

How much does Joey Chestnut win for the hot dog eating contest?​

In both the men's and women's competition, there is a total purse of $20,000 on the line at the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest. The winner takes home half of that money.

Chestnut will make $10,000 for winning the 2026 Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest, with the prize money remaining the same as past years. Here are all of the payouts for the 2026 competition.

• First place: $10,000
• Second place: $5,000
• Third place: $2,500
• Fourth place: $1,500
• Fifth place: $1,000

Both Chestnut and Miki Sudo will be walking away, once again, with the $10,000 this year on top of their Mustard Belts.
