Toronto and KC have clinched Division Titles. Toronto has a 2 game lead for home field advantage
Texas is up 2 games on Houston, 2.5 on LA in the AL West
The Yankees have the same lead for the first WC spot. Houston has half game lead for second WC spot over LA, with Minnesota 1.5 games back

The Mets and Dodgers are the other divisional winners. Mets currently have one game lead over LA to decide who hosts the opening round.

Next week is the wildcard games.....can't wait.
AL wildcard game will be played on ESPN, I'm not sure what channel the NL wildcard game will be show on.
NL wild card will be shown on TBS.

The Cubs are a great story. There was hope they would compete, but they got the second WC spot by more than 10 games and that is with getting off to a slow start. It they land Price and have a 1-2-3 of Price, Arietta and Lester they run away with the division next year.

Pirates will host the wild card game for the second straight year.

Having seen my favorite team move west when I was a kid, then my moving west, then my adopted home town forming its own team . . . I will be rooting for the team that has always been my sentimental backup favorite -- the St. Louis Cardinals -- in the post-season.

I patterned my batting stance after Stan Musial. And I would never root for an American League team or one east of the Mississippi.

The Cardinals had key players hurt and still won the toughest division in baseball. Don't sleep on them.

...even though they had the second-best record in the league.

Mets and Dodgers should have to play that game.

What I hope will happen?

Cubs over Pirates, Cubs over StL, Cubs over Mets. Cubs over Rangers/Royals in WS.

What will actually happen? Probably a Yankees vs Dodgers/StL WS that will nauseate regardless of the outcome.

Astros shut out the Yankees 3-0 in the AL wildcard game. Will face the Royals. Good for them.
