I think I actually mentioned this a few weeks ago in the 49ers draft pick discussions. one of the rumors in the Bay area is the 49ers are his first pick if he gets a trade and so one of the reasons they made the deal to move up was IF GB decides to trade Rodgers, they would likely want to be able to draft a QB in the first round to compete with Love to replace Rodgers. So if you want Rodgers you go get the 3rd pick and then try to convince the Packers to trade Rodgers in a package.

If they don't trade Rodgers, you just use the 3rd pick to pick a QB

I didn't read the draft kings story but multiple reports say the 49ers contacted the Packers months ago about Rodgers and also the Lions about Stafford.

Well crap. NFC QBs we're gonna have to face: Wilson, Stafford, & Rodgers? That's a recipe for 0-6

Actually, I think he has a ton of leverage, because of the amount of money he's made and the stage of his career. "Trade me or I retire." If he retires, the team gets nothing; if they trade him, they get a franchise-changing haul a year after drafting their QBOF.

It's all a staring contest now.
