I was given a free laptop from my company. I used to watch movies on it, but they dumped most of the software before they gave it to me. It says I need a DVD Decoder to play the movies.

Any suggestions on the best place to buy this? Thanks.

Some DVD movies come with their own player. WinDVD is just fine.... you can actually download it for free sometimes from the laptop's manufacturer's website

WinDVD is what I used to have. I'll try to download it.

Yep just download one of them and you should be good to go. Some are better then others. Like the others said if not, I am sure one of us could send you one.

I downloaded the WinDVD program. Works great, I'm back in business.

Does anyone know if I can transfer my WinDVD software from my old laptop to my new one? I suspect not, since I had XP and now I have Vista. I can't stand the DVD software that came loaded on my new laptop.
