for all you smashers on here you can get these baddies at fry's - non frozen - they don't throw off much grease and get that super crispy char going if you got your cast iron hot enough - haven't grilled them yet - haven't grilled in months

Just got back from a Business Trip to Jackson, MS. Some really good food there, especially the seafood. Never had catfish before but the Mississippi catfish was fantastic.

I buy these all of the time. I cook them the same way in a cast iron skillet.

Was there yesterday in Chandler. they had no price on them!!!! So I formed my own. Totally paid more attention to cooking for the family than watching the damn game.

I had catfish once when I was young and thought it was great.
Growing up my parents took me camping up on the Rim. Once I helped set up the tent and camp, I got to go fishing for trout. My parents told me to catch 6, clean them and come back to camp.....I'm just realizing my parents used me as free labor......LOL

Wife and I, plus daughter and her two teenagers, just got into Orca Island this evening. Just finished eating at a place called Madrona Bar and Grill. I had the blackened salmon on Alfredo. Very good. :)

Gulf shrimp, and MS catfish are the ride. You like that ruddy, bottom feeder flavor?
Bro if never eat steamer tray shrimp anywhere else but the ones down there rocked.

I think I had fish with every meal. I low-key expected the Catfish to be more like swordfish but those nugs were super-tender.

When I lived up by Lake Tahoe, I would catch some trout and the leftovers I made into trout tacos. I managed two apartment complexes, and my maintenance man was Mexican. We loved those trout tacos, but the residents always freaked out it was trout. They would always come down and say, "something smells good!" I would offer them trout tacos, and they would making puking noises, or make gagging gestures, LOL.

No way lol. I don't want my food tasting me back. :p
Seriously, if done right, Lengua tacos are way better than Asada. Think slow cooked meat, until buttery tender! With the flavors slowly cooked into the meat. THey became my favorite when I found places that cooked them the old school way.
