I think we have to temper our expectations with Beck.
Beck will soon see defenses with NFL players and exotic schemes.

Brissett gives us the best chance to win. There’s nothing he hasn’t seen and now he has a true running game. If this o -line meshes early we could cause some problems.
Very true, but no reason not to see a glimmer of hope for the future.

And, I know we will be comparing Beck to Mendoza, but I've heard next to nothing about the other QB, drafted in the 1st round. Sorry, I've even forgotten his name. Any intel on how he is doing?

As we get closer to game time, I'm being pulled in. So, come 8PM (ET), I'll be sitting in front of my computer, clicking on Gamecast and watching the little FB move up and down the field. At least, when watching the replay tomorrow morning, I'll know what to expect.

He literally just posted about it. The concept of “preseason record” would never occur to me
we're playing 4 games while the rest of the league is playing 3 - that's why he asked imo - and the game does count btw - cards are 0-1 in the preseason

It's a pretty foreign concept to people who usually don't even go to the games that do count.

We've had season tickets since 1993 and have only missed two preseason games in all of that time. So far, no regular season games, although that may change in the near future with some of our fair convention obligations.

During the SDS days those games counted more to us as those were usually a couple of extra home wins, so the team may have been 4-12, but we actually saw 6 home wins during the year. Even though they were preseason and don't show up on the record books, we saw many good games and especially breakout plays or performances by players trying to make the regular season squad.

Read along in the gameday thread

We talk about most of the plays and get lots of input from many posters

Fact check: they do not count and no one remembers preseason records once the season starts
So funny that you are so passionate about this. Over the years I have seen NFL pundits look back on preseason records as predictors. Studying trends, which coaches treat the games seriously, which coaches despise the preseason, and what records show compared to the team's regular season performance. For a couple of years, teams that were horrible during the preseason posted decent regular season records and fans were like, "Let's go 0-4 or 0-3 to help us improve this season !!" LOL

Many fans think it is a waste of money to pay the same for the preseason games as we do the regular season games. We just figured we already paid for them so let's just go and have fun and get back into the game day routines. It's great to see old friends from previous seasons, see former players, etc. To each their own.

Content SZN stuff while waiting for the preseason to start. There’s zero correlation and people who cite preseason performance as indicative of anything should be presumed fools.

He’s responding with one sentence replies and you’re defensively responding with entire screeds… but he’s the passionate one. Lol… ok.
