His catching technique still seems questionable at best, but he has been getting wide open so far in camp.

The separation is a big deal to me considering we didn’t see a ton of it earlier in his career.

I assume it's Sr not Jr but apparently Asante Samuel said Marv is "just not fast, and he only has 1 speed, and his hands are not dependable and that's a lot of bad things to be the 4th overall pick."

The one speed thing is something I've called out before, guys who just flat get open often do so many ways but if you only have 1 speed you have to be REALLY fast so people back off and he's not that fast.

I think he’s better than Zaven Collins but in the same ballpark. Christian Kirk quality.

Too many people expected a repeat of what his father was to the Colts back in his day.

There's a reason there are no fathers and sons in the Hall of Fame as players in this league.

Meh. His dad didn’t really break out until year 4.

I think people expected to see the game-breaking WR we saw in college (and that OSU has produced on an assembly line for what feels like a decade).

We got the worst first-round OSU wideout in a long time instead of the best.

I remember some people saying that Egbuka who was taken in the late first round last year by Tampa was overrated and not worthy of a first round pick. He only comes in and had a damn good year and outplayed Harrison‘s production. Another high-quality OSU wide receiver.

Started out hot but over the last 8 games of the season only put up 23 catches for 261 yards as the Bucs limped to a 2-6 finish.

Has to prove a lot with no more Evans now too.

I'm interested to see him in a different offense. We've seen flashes in one game with next to no targets the next game.

I would say his decline would be more because Chris Godwin came back to the lineup and played well…. Not as many targets to go around. More so than his actual play. Godwin is a really good player.

I could see that, but it also lined up when Evans missed a lot of time as well. Though he did have one monster game without him.

Regardless, interesting player to watch this year!

He got plenty of targets last year. His best game featured 7 catches on 10 targets... the next week he was targeted 12 times and only caught 3.

His low target numbers against the Colts and in the final 2 games are because, along with being mediocre, he got hurt a lot.

He's not horrible but that's really the only game of his career he looked special

It just seems like he has never really gotten into a rhythm and that the mental aspect of the game is where he is really struggling.

Marvin Harrison Jr. has struggled during Arizona Cardinals training camp, as drops continue to be an issue for the former No. 4 overall pick. Two-time Super Bowl champion Asante Samuel is souring on him as a prospect, and he didn't mince words about his game.

"Marvin Harrison Jr. isn't showing any improvement... He only has one speed, and his hands are not dependable," Samuel said on the "Say What Needs To Be Said" podcast. "That sounds like a lot of negatives to be the fourth overall pick... He's just not fast. He doesn't have the quickness to be effective from the line of scrimmage. When you watch Marvin Harrison Jr. run his routes, it looks lackadaisical."

Samuel argued that the Cardinals should move Harrison to the slot in order to get the most out of him.

"I could see the Cardinals using Marvin Harrison [Jr.] in the slot and trying to send him over the middle and make those tough catches, but he has to have that will and desire. I'm not seeing too much of anything from Marvin Harrison [Jr.] right now," he added. "He looks like a player that expects things to work out, not someone that is willing to go out there and make sure that things work out in his favor."

Last season, Harrison totaled 608 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns, and he ranked No. 42 in PFN's WR Impact Score.

That is not even close to true Russ. I beat on him plenty and burned his jersey, but he played great against Seattle in week 4, Against Dallas in week 10 and Tampa in week 13.

He had similar stretches his rookie year were he shows flashes and then disappeared. He had 116 targets that year with 50 of them in 5 game (10 per) and 66 in the other 12 (5.5 per).

At the end of the year he was, again, injured. Was working his way back in the Falcons game, got hurt again in the Bengals game.

When he was healthy he got a lot of targets, he just didn't produce.
