there's been a lot of talk about the same route wilson and mhj were running in camp - which is funny to me because they won't be running the same routes in the season because one is an X and one is a Z

in the 12 personnel you got 1 running back - 2 tight ends and 2 receivers

you have your X receiver who will typically line up out wide - split end

you have your Z receiver tucked more inside - able to go in motion or help with blocking assignments

lafleur has stated mhj will be playing the X - think davante adams

that makes michael wilson the Z - that makes michael wilson puka nacua

imo there's a chance wilson gets more yards but mhj gets more tds solely due to positioning - because they won't be running the same routes

I don't care what letter of the alphabet is assigned to MHJ, if he can't make catches he's a detriment to the offense. Also, with his added bulk, IMO he should absolutely be used for blocking.

X receiver was the role from Marv’s rookie season where we all decided he needed to play inside and on the move more.

This is a bit overblown

It's cool until you remember what our QB room looks like
you mean having a qb who actually sits in the pocket and gets it to the receivers while on their designed routes - instead of fleeing the pocket and forcing the receivers to improv

Do you trust him to get separation, take the top off of defenses and make catches down field? Without the pattern of critical drops?

You must be registered for see images attach
He needs to get better but he isn’t crap

that turd got mcbride 11 touchdowns and allowed michael wilson to become a phoenix - rising from the ashes of kyler murray

And a whopping 1 win over a Dallas defense that I could throw for 250 and 2 TDs against.

They're all turds unless proven otherwise.

Did you forget he was supposed to be the backup? QBs not easy to find we just moved off a failed one.

But let’s go get Baker Mayfield and stop talking about the QB position for awhile

mhj will see a lot of one on one outside - if he's successful then he also becomes successful in keeping the safety honest (or atleast one of them)

marv's been open a lot in camp - winning the separation battle with sharp routes instead of trying to sprint past - i'm hoping that's all lafleur

Ron, as bulked up (assuming he's strong too), he should be blowing up the smaller DB's. That's not the case from TC videos I've seen. My take is he seems to nice to want to hurt someone and as a result, plays soft. If I were his size, the first thing I would do is ram one of the DB's - I'd look for someone to hit! He's not quick enough or fast enough to blow by guys so he has to learn to use his strength.

I'm very curious to see what Kendrick Bourne does as the slot receiver. I've always felt that he can be that 3rd WR who will get you those 500-600 yards each season. A guy who doesn't put up big numbers but moves the chains. Will be watching him closely during the preseason.
From what I've seen, he has good hands! And he looks shifty. I too want to see him get 500-600+ yards in the slot.
