Fans are desperate for an ownership change... #bidwill

xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
They were desperate BEFORE the team moved to AZ. People back then didn't want the Cards because of Bill Bidwill. This has been a running theme since before they even moved here.

FWIW, I am one of the few that think Michael's trying. It's just bad decisions, bad luck, and not having deep pockets that is holding him back. You don't switch out coaches this many times if you aren't desperate. Michael needs a GREAT GM. Not a good one. A great one. An Ozzie Newsome, John Lynch, etc. Someone that can build a franchise and a culture from the ground up. If Bill is going to ever spend his money excessively, he needs to get this one guy, with a proven track record, and hand over the keys to him. Cardinals need a rebranding, new culture, etc. They need excitement. When is the last time anyone felt excited, really excited about the Cards? Kurt Warner's era?

He has needed to step back for a long time now. Step back and let true football people run the football operations. These family run teams usually have someone in the family that feels they are a football person just because they have been around the team most of their life. There's a big difference.

You can have a family team. The Chargers have family all over the front office. In like community relations, business opportunities, etc. They go out and get a real GM, and Coach, though. They don't do director of scouting, etc. They stick to Charger Charities, etc. That's how you do a family run NFL team. You let the football guys do the football things.

The Cardinals need someone that can come in, tear down what needs to be torn down, keep anything that is good, and start fresh. The fans deserve a new start in AZ. Look at the Suns, they finally seem to have stumbled onto a decent GM. They are "aligning" the team to a new culture. The Diamondbacks have always had a killer marketing team. They have some of the most innovative foods that keep people coming out to the ball park. If Michael just looks around in Phoenix itself, there's examples of how he can change the Cards.

I'm sorry, I'm confused. Who's this Bill you keep talking about?
Sorry, was talking about Bill in an earlier post.

William Vogel Bidwill was an American businessman and the owner of the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League. Bill had co-owned the team from 1962 for ten seasons with his brother Charles Jr. and had been sole owner from 1972 until his death in 2019. The team has been owned by the Bidwill family since 1932.

There’s something rotten in Denmark Yuma.

Michael was okay for a minute, but it’s impossible for a franchise to be this bad for this long, to fail so consistently on every front, and for the owner to be competent in his role.

It’s not possible.

This doesn't surprise me one bit. Before there was gambling, I was privy to many picks prior to them being made.
That's no longer the case, obviously, and me and BIL even talked about it and how it could happen. He said no chance he'd risk his career on doing something like that and that they'd likely catch on to it pretty quickly.

Teams pretty much know who's going to be there and when. This guy made a $25 parlay on the Cards first 5 picks. He knew those guys were going to be there and selected.
makes you wonder...if maybe...
just maybe.....
this guy knew he had enough influence over Monti to force the picks at those points...before he placed the bet.
Because nailing five,...hell, even when you are the guy making the picks,...is nearly impossible....
That basically means you have to know exactly who 31 other teams ARE NOT going to pick for 5 rounds.
I could see a guy getting...hmmm,...2 rounds...maybe 3 with a huge stroke of luck or an insanely defined draft class.... but 5??? Just no way....that is way beyond luck or the laws of chance....

but if you got influence, and can "sell" a few guys to get picked a round early...
the worst part about that entire line of thinking??? Means we got 4 guys this year whom we most likely over drafted...maybe not by huge amounts... but at least a half round I would guess

oh well.....the draft has always forkin been " woulda, coulda, shoulda" for the cardinals fans anyway...so fork it

Probably not. The Cardinals will somehow exceed expectations and win 4 games instead of 2 and Bidwill will give him a 5 year extension.
I know I only have 10, 747 followers on my social media... but I fully expect the Cardinals to exceed a .500 record in the 2026 season.

I could explain the football reasons. But nobody is interested in hearing that...so I will name the "Cardinal" reason we will exceed .500

Because we desparately need a damn quarterback. The 2027 draft is expected to be the best Quarterback class in the past five years, as well as the next three years....
....and if we dont pick in the top 10 we wont get the quarterback we need....we will get the "surprise slide" quarterback. everyone will tout how forrtunate we were that the guy slid...much like Aaron Rodgers did on his draft night. They will spend the off season predicting glory and finally a rise from the muck of ineptitude.....
and the guy will go 9-8.....everyone will be ecstatic....
year two...he will be 5-2...and get hit late...take an injury and spend six weeks on IR.....
The Cardinal program kicks into operation...and after we sign him to a 5 year 300million dollar contract...the questions...why are we losing....whats it take to get him over the hump.....

and the cycle begins again...

for those first few years Mike really was different from Dollar Bill... but the past ten years...the entire feel around the team is different... I used to believe Mike really wanted to win..and just hit hard luck and compounded it with a few bad decisions...
but now??
Maybe the Keim thing hurt him somehow?? I mean, he and steve were buddies right?? But it just doesnt feel like Mike gives one single crap about winning games...

in all honesty?? Screw it... hire Keim back

I'm actually buying this. It's the only thing that makes this possible. And he was the director of college scouting. Not some low level scout. And there was $750,000 at stake. This guy doesn't need jail. He needs to be dragged through downtown Scottsdale Red Dead Redemption style. And Monti has to get fired. How could he survive this? This is big. We haven't even heard from Florio yet. I'm sure he hasn't slept since the news hit.

yes, but

while it was noted he made a $25 parlay that paid off

what it doesnt say is that he could have made 3/5/10 $25 parlays to cover a variety of options

given the payoff -- making 100 bets is possible
