At least it might prevent an extension which would be a mistake even if he was a choir boy.
ish made a business decision - he knew all about the bad and invested in a violent felon anyway

this tells me if miles is a good fit on the court and stays out of trouble off it - ish will be happy with the investment and an extension

I'm not quite sure what you are asking.

This is what I said about Miles Bridges back on February, 2nd, 2024.
Okay. I unequivocally know where you stand on issues like these when it comes to players who can help the Suns. We don’t need to continue the convo further.

But that’s kind of the thing, you don’t know. If you knew this guy did this would you let him date your daughter? No? Even if he paid his legal penance? But you’ll root for him on a basketball court. I hate he’s on the team. I’ll still root for the suns. I know myself well enough. But I won’t shy away from the fact I hate that any of my money and energy helps him live the life of a mega millionaire.
There are a lot of pro athletes that haven't beaten a woman and I wouldn't want them dating my daughter. The bar is infinitely lower for what I will root for in basketball and who I would want dating my duaghter.

Yeah sorry if we aren’t gonna give a guy a second chance for doing something bad in their early 20s then I’m not sure how some of you guys can justify listening to the radio, watching tv, or any sport for that matter. Matter of fact you probably have someone in your life that you consider a friend or family member that has hit a women or child. (1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men have been victims of assault by their partner). So if you have more than 3 or 4 friends someone may meet that criteria. You just don’t know about it.

And that is coming from a guy that has basically quit the NBA in general. I might watch 7-10 games a year at this point.

I'm not on trial. I told you, I evaluate things on a case by case basis.

I've been fairly neutral on Miles Bridges being traded to the Suns yesterday. Personally I would have preferred a 4/5.

However, within reason, I'm for giving a person a second chance.
That’s fair. It’s definitely a personal choice. We just define “second chance” differently.

But this is a key phrase. If I did know about it, I’m unsure they’d still be my friend.

A lot of judgement based on a situation people THINK they know all about. I tend not to judge things based on stuff I heard or people said. The people in the situation know the truth rarely that’s what’s given to the public. If he’s completed the steps reported and hasn’t had other things happen let the man live his life. He didn’t murder anyone, I’m sure the Suns did their due diligence on the person as well as the player. Could be just a moment in his life not a serial abuser necessarily, not to mention some crazy things she was accused of as well don’t think it’s a one sided situation that we have all the facts on.

That’s fair. The issue is you and your bro seem to be attacking other posters character because they are choosing to look at the basketball side and have a little grace.

I’m not saying you guys need to agree but to challenge another posters character because their opinion differs from yours is inappropriate.

Yeah… there’s a reason i basically bowed out of the convo after me and BOP got deep in it yesterday (and why I edited my response to Mainstreet, albeit a bit too late). Too much passion around this subject for me to engage with others.

I appreciate both of you guys. Just to be clear. The topic hits too close to home for me if I’m being honest. I’m actually in the middle of dealing with an elder abuse issue with my wife’s family.

This record will play over and over. Hornets went threw this two years ago with Miles. Sign him or not, half wanted him gone half bowed out. They signed him on the cheep and I'm sure some fans stopped cheering for him. God I remember a Panther wide receiver having a hit man kill his pregnant girlfriend. He never got play again.

I'd like to add, the record will play again when they have to decide to resign or not. I'm sure it will be for under market value. Like I said Miles will pay for what he did for the rest of his life.

bottom line for me -- ethics and morality count. in every aspect of life. if he did time in prison or was suspended a year from the NBA, then, i might believe he paid for his mistake, like anyone else would, and probably deserves another chance.

but this also makes no sense from the basketball perspective. he's another 6'7 guy we don't need, another questionable defender we don't need, another shooter who is below average from 3 -- that we don't need alongside Booker with the same problems

please, Ishbia, if you don't have time to take a look at the stats, have somebody do it for you

i like that we have an aggressive owner, but wow. Durant. Booker's 75 million contract. Now this. None of it makes sense.

What really sucks, is that even when we KNOW it happened, people are so easy to dismiss it unless they witness it.

Earlier I mentioned Ray Rice... he got a slap on the wrist, then the video got released and he was done, career over.

I have no doubt that if we actually had video of what Bridges did, no one here would want him and his career would have ended 2 years ago.

the reviews keep pouring in

Don't let the door hit you, Miles

...The best quality he's brought to the Hornets over the years is that he had a good rapport with LaMelo Ball. Outside of that, he's been an inconsistent basketball liability, and an awful person to boot.

Bridges has phenomenal athleticism and a good enough shot to be a solid stretch four, but he's incredibly lazy. On defense, he's a non-factor, never showing a willingness to be a rebounder, and on offense, he'll only show effort if he believes there's a scoring opportunity for him.

We don't know how it was in their private life. Many situations can be quite extreme and stressful. Some people react with violence unfortunately.

The high character talk Ish has been throwing around is now obviously media speech, so we have to take whatever he says going forward as not necessarily true (i.e. lies).

I just keep thinking, if Ishbia keeps taking Charlotte players, why didn't he just offer to buy that team instead of ours? Would have saved a lot of work trying to bring all their players here.

Well, this trade allows Brooks to slide back to SF. It realigns the starting five. If we can get the 7 footers on the floor at Center, then maybe we won't be too small. Wishful thinking. :)

Yeah, but if one of our guys is not picking up his slack, the results might not be that much better versus running 4 slow guys and a center that is a non threat. Wait, it has to be better. Just not sure who will control the ball and initiate the offense.

Not attacking anyone. In fact when people use the word judging it can feel quite the opposite. When two sides don’t agree any criticism of the others side can feel like an attack. Personally I’m disappointed in the suns.
