It's definitely not cheap anymore, cost wise. But almost nowhere is.

I seldom eat fast food anymore or eat out much. I'd rather spend it at the grocery store and get more bang for the buck.

However, with coupon, I've been eating at Arby's, two double roast beef sandwiches and two medium shakes for under $12.

i'm also guessing charlotte wanted our 2nd rounder for this year - but we needed it to move up for koa + we needed to clear some cheddar off the books

Far from a burden. They are solid role players. The Ishbia regime is just terrible at managing assets.
They were not solid at all. Grayson had injury issues that are only getting worse. Royce was a 3pt shooter but was deficient in every other way. They both made our team worse statistically when they were on the court versus off.

I know you guys think I have some weird vendetta against these guys, I don’t I just know we are legit better off without them and the stats back that up already with sheer as a rookie.

Ishbia loves giving away unprotected picks down the road for highly leveraged crap.

I have little doubt Charlotte is going to get picks out of both, O'Neale and Allen.
As far as owners go, it seems we got rid of our version of Donald Sterling, but we may have ended up with our version of Ted Stepien instead. :D

For what it's worth, Charlotte fans seem to hate this trade. Purely from an on court performance standpoint I think it would be hard to argue that this doesn't make us at least a bit better. A big part of that is that he adds something that we are very much lacking in, rim pressure.

The main question right now is how this effects the chemistry that we built and what, if anything, will come next now that we have freed up some more assets.

from a basketball perspective, I would have preferred to just try to get picks for Royce and Grayson.

So, I guess I don’t like this trade.

I had no idea about Bridges domestic abuse case, so I have no idea what happened. I don’t trust media reports on this stuff either. It could be much less, or much more than has been reported.

So I will just have to look at the bball portion of this. We will miss the shooting of those two. Grayson is redundant with Green on the roster. Part of me wishes we could have traded Green instead of Grayson. Losing ONeale is fine with me. We have to develop Dunn, and this also frees up some minutes at 3 for others.

This looks like the Suns might have some moves to make in free agency. I thought we were done.

Media or not, he plead guilty to the felony domestic violence charges. That alone says a ton.

There was a time when Suns were so bad that I was willing to overlook off-court issues, but man...I just can't justify it now. On the court, I think he is fine, but I really wanted Fleming to start. Financially, I love the deal.
It does free up $20 million or so. I hate the Michigan State connection. Makes me think that this is more Ishbia infatuation that a real ball move.

I really have high hopes for Fleming and I think his future is at pf. So, this, in my mind sets Fleming back.

The more I think about this, the more I don’t like it.

I guess it depends on what the Suns do with the $20 million. The Nuggets are wanting to move Cam Johnson to get under the second apron. Tthis would allow the Suns to almost fully absorb his contract. In that case, Bridges would only be a means to an end. If we gave up Grayson and Royce for Cam, I would be just fine with it. More size and we still get the shooting.

Yes. It’s wishful thinking. I am just trying to figure out some way this might be more palatable to me.

I can't help but wonder if a Green for Giddey deal could still be percolating in the background? May be wishful thinking on my part but it would go a long way to making the starting lineup actually, like, good.

The Suns are now able to trade other first rounders after the Bridges trade, so it opens some flexibility. Who knows.

.
1. Free’s up $27m to extend Brooks without going over the apron
2. Fleming & Peat aren’t ready for significant minutes until 27-28’
3. Bridges is the type of player/character you can justify for one season but not multiple.
I don’t buy #3 even a little. You bring in that character, you’ve brought it in. Doesn’t matter duration. The damage has already been done. Just read this board.

Also unlocked more tradable draft picks by adding the 29 1st
Given this front offices trade activity, this is the part that’s most interesting. And remember, I’m the guy who ridicules the “other shoe is going to drop” hypotheses. But ish and co have been mad scientist tinkerers. So that’s a very real possibility.

Following my comment the other day about ish making things happen, this front office has also shown an incredible ability to make moves when you think they’re boxed in without flexibility. It will likely all come due in the future at some point, but I’ve got to admire their continued creativity.

Duration matters. Plenty of ppl in Charlotte are glad he’s gone and the franchise has one less distraction going forward.

I’m bullish on Fleming but think he’s a year away from being a cornerstone so I don’t mind Bridges for one year. Koa is a year away from being a rotation guy so the timing is okay temporarily.

That’s a lot to give up for Bridges for a year. I would rather just throw Fleming out there.

Have the Suns EVER protected a 1st round pick in a trade? I can’t remember them ever doing even once and that’s under three different owners.

Thats is what I hate most about this trade.
