Defense was crap in the 1st half, but that doesn't worry me--it was the second team. I was fine with the game until the L, and even then, whatever. Pulisic showed some good stuff, so I'm happy. It may even be that the L gives impetus to come back stronger. Remember that Germany took an L as well. Bosnia will be a good match up. I love it because I was deployed there twice.

Side note: I don't want to see Weah again. He is way off the pace. He sucked out loud.

Yeah, Weah was the worst player on the field yesterday. He was so much better 4 years ago and it isn't like he got old all of a sudden, he is still in his prime--I don't get it.

Defense was disorganized but that is sort of what I expected.

On a positive Berhalter was great, non stop motor and tough as nails and he may have the best set team service we have had in a long time.

The United States Soccer Federation has presented head coach Mauricio Pochettino with a contract proposal to extend for a second World Cup cycle, running until 2030, per @TheAthletic. Pochettino’s current contract is due to expire after the current World Cup and any decisions will be deferred until after the tournament.

My thoughts on last night's match. Weah was horrible, there is no other way to describe his game. Constantly muscled off the ball, questionable decisions when he even made a decision. Most times he just dribbled around until he gave up possession. Luna over Weah may have been a better choice. I was disappointed in McKenzie. He did not show well at all. The guy I was concerned with M. Robinson played pretty good. Reyna was a bit of a conundrum, there were times he was a factor and others where he disappeared for stretches. Turner just, well he just, he just, he just doesn't belong at this level. Overall I thought there was not enough decisiveness and ball movement was too slow for long stretches during the match.

Berhalter was solid, made things happen. I was hoping for more out of Aaronson. Scally was inconsistent. Surprised we didn't see Wright come in for Pepi the second half. I felt Pepi couldn't handle the physicality of Turkey and Wright would have stood stronger against it. I thought Roldan would get some minutes too. I would have liked to see Zendejas with more minutes.

I know a lot of people are poo, pooing the team with that loss, but it doesn't matter. I think Pochettino's way of looking at it was let's see who we can rely on should we have a starter go down or accumulate cards. Let's see who can show in a world cup match. I think he got some answers yesterday. I don't think a lot of people really see what Pochettino is doing at this point. From this point on, the matches will be more physical. I hope we make him an offer that he can't refuse because he has started something that can be built on long term and to change lanes now would set the US back again. The program really needs to have some long term direction and I like the direction Pochettino is taking it.
