I see it made 17 million this weekend on a 1-million-dollar budget. it actually looks pretty good. There's quite a bit of buzz for this one. Think we'll go see it this weekend.
It made 22 million in weekend 2, an unheard of 30% weekend 2 jump and is making ANOTHER 25 million this weekend, an even more unheard of 5% 3rd weekend jump.I see it made 17 million this weekend on a 1-million-dollar budget. it actually looks pretty good.

Last movie to do something like this in a non holiday Xmas period was My Big Fat Greek Wedding over 20 years ago.
It’s been a reallyyyyyy long time since word of mouth helped like it is right now.word of mouth is the best advertising
well, I hope you knocked on wood, lolIt’s been a reallyyyyyy long time since word of mouth helped like it is right now.
It’s no secret I’m over invested in everything Hollywood. It’s my business
And it kicks everyone’s ass who works in this business, but it looks like, LOOKS LIKE, we MIGHT be in a bit of an upswing right now, when it.. eh Nevermind.
I tried it and really, rea-hea-hea-heally didn't like it. Flat, uninspired.
If that's @Stout's review, you just know this move is killer. Go see it !!I tried it and really, rea-hea-hea-heally didn't like it. Flat, uninspired.
I am more likely to go see anything put out by Blumhouse. Good track record of us enjoying it.I refuse to see this solely due to the Blumhouse buying a RT "Certified Fresh" logo 5 days (May 10th) prior to it coming out. I was watching the NBA playoffs two weeks before this came out. Most of these 60 reviews at the time were paid influencers. The logo says as of 4/21, which means they had even less reviews then.
It is getting gross.

Megan 2.0 was trash and they lost a boat load of money on it, so it worries me they are advertising their movies with paid reviews. They saw it help Superman at the box office when RT help back low scores. Blumhouse is supposed to be better than that.I am more likely to go see anything put out by Blumhouse. I loved it. Thoroughly enjoyed it.Better than Backrooms.
Thought it was missing one more next level escalation/twist to make it a true all-timer. But end of day, an incredibly impressive directorial debut and bona-fide a star is born moment for the "Obsessed".
I have no doubt it is a great movie. I have heard nothing but great things about it. I just don't like the manipulative advertising and I hold studios like Blumhouse to a higher standard because they seem to still about art. Maybe I am naive to think that art is still important to some studios. But I am glad it is doing well for them and the RT badge wasn't why. Blumhouseand and a few others give me hope. All the good reviews in the world can’t push a movie to plus 39% and plus 25% jumps in weekend 2 and 3 of a wide release. That hasn’t happened for any movie in wide release outside of the Xmas break period since E-Freaking-T!
That only happens by insanely good worth of mouth.
