i just wish we knew what jacoby wants - if he had an agent the agent might've leaked something to one of the big accounts

the "far apart" leak we got came from inside the house - fed directly to weinfuss then us - and i don't know if that leak was designed to keep the fans up to date or to let jacoby know his requests are a definite no go

thing is that little leak only came out 2 days ago - and on a friday mind you - giving jacoby a full 3 (memorial) day weekend to digest what the monti is cooking

not just far apart but "significantly" far apart

if brissett didn't go 1-11 last year then holding out wouldn't sound so preposterous but the savagery on social media doesn't take anything into account - they already got beck breathing down his neck

both the cardinals and brissett are being laughed at on cable sport shows and podcasts

if negotiations were at a stalemate im guessing both sides come back to the table this week - thing is i don't see monti budging - he literally has other cards to play

far as leverage goes brissett is bris-screwed - my man can stand 10 toes down meanwhile camp is still going down - meanwhile lafleur is spending time with minshew and the neck breather

meanwhile brissett supposedly has no agent? chalk up another point for monti - negotiations are his job - his forte - not to mention how he got saddlebagged with kyler's contract but i digress

i think brissett caves this week
yeah, rumor has it the cards were not planning to draft a QB this year until Beck fell in their lap...had JB waited until after the draft to make his demands he would have had more leverage...but he demanded early..so Monti drafted a QB...now Briskett has no leverage other than the fact he has the most experience.
he should read between the lines... he demanded more money...Monti goes right out and signs a QB for the same money, then drafts a guy third round... JB aint got nothing coming...he did not play his hand well at all.

I don’t believe there’s any cause and effect here.
If the Cardinals appeared to be so set with Brissett as their starting QB, why did they sign Minshew? In case they moved off JB? Seems the most likely answer. Killed any leverage he thought he may have had.

JB: "I won't play as your starting QB/Bridge QB while being paid as a backup."

Cardinals: "Next."

Because they needed a more credible backup QB than Kedon Slovis? This stuff isn’t hard.

The reports that Brissett hadn’t heard about the Cards plans for him came between the start of free agency/when Minshew was signed and the draft.

Monti: "Sure, we leaked you'd be the starting QB, but we were kidding. I'm sure you appreciate the humour."

I'm a little confused by all the posts that switch directions as fast as the wind.
First, it was fire everybody and if it was 150 years ago Bidwill would have been lynched for the team he put on the field.
Now, we want to throw a rookie out there to see if we have a QB or if he goes 3-14, oh well, we'll just start over again next year.
We've just watched 3 yrs of a rebuild and now we should settle for another 3? Because if we do draft another QB next year it will take a year or two before he settles in and the game slows down for him.
If we drop JB, we're going rebuild again. If Bidwill and JB make nice, we're going to give it the best we got...which may not be enough anyway.
We're in purgatory. And because of that, opinions will shift like the wind. What exactly is the answer? When you're as bad as we are, there is merit to both sides of the argument. It's tiresome, but this is the lot we've drawn as fans of one of the 3 worst franchises in football.

There is only one opinion in purgatory.

Lol, that reminds me...a couple of weeks ago I told my wife, I hope I die in my sleep...without missing a beat, she said, How about tonight?
I slept with one eye open that night!!

A wife spots a bottle on the shoreline. She picks it up, pops the cork and from a puff of smoke emerges a Genie.

Genie: I will grant you three wishes, but remember that your husband will receive the results of your desires tenfold.

Wife: I understand.

Genie: OK, your first wish?

Wife: I want to be beautiful.

Genie: You do understand this wish will make your husband the handsomest man in the world?

Wife: Yes, I do.

Genie: Your second wish?

Wife: $100 million dollars.

Genie: Granted, and I must say you are very generous. Your husband is now a billionaire.

What will your third and final wish be?

Wife: I want a slight heart attack, just a bit of a health scare, easily healed.

The moral of the story: Eventually THEY GET IT ALL. ;)

totally thought jacoby would cave this week but the leverage-less journeyman is still a no show - despite monti romancing minshew

They signed Minshew as a backup after failing to get Willis and Garopulo and announcing Brissett as the starter.

Are we just going to rewrite history here?
