When I was 11 (we can count back in several decades), my favorite baseball team won 6 game in a row to start the season. Man, I thought they would go undefeated. 162-0. The greatest team ever. Alas, my 11 year old enthusiasm waned quickly as the team came back to earth and they finished the year barely over .500. Sort of like this post. My 11 year old self may believe the Cards will be unstoppable. But, dang it, they have to play the games. In a tough division no less. I’d probably do backflips this year if they finished .500.

So we will go from dead last in Offensive rankings to maybe 20?
while we do still have stackes of question marks at QB...
the rest of our skill positions are pretty damn elite...as a group...
Trey is probably the only guy who can be called elite on his own... but there just arent teams out there with that level of talent across the board..as a group,..our offensive skill positions are pretty stellar...on paper.
with Alex Smith/Brock Purdy-ish QB play we should be knocking on the door of the top ten offenses.
I mean...unless our offensive coordinator just suxx ballz

Our boy love...
That's 1000 yards,... receiving??
How many rushing yards??
Can we hope for 1400 in that scenario??
Because I'm guessing that if the rookie RB hits 2400 yards in total offense, with a full 1000 in receiving... we will be a top 3 offense and likely #1 overall.

You accounted for 3800 passing yards without including JC, Algiers, or any other pass catchers outside the starters. It's conservative to think "everybody else" should add another 1200 yards or so.
That would put us in the neighborhood of 5000 yards passing. Would definitely send our QB to the pro bowl no matter who it is.

Have you looked at how long it has been since we even had a 4000 yard passer?? I'm pretty sure it's been over a decade.
As for a 5000 yard passer... I seem to recall Warner getting close one year... but I think 5000 yards would be a new single season record for the Redbirds.... it would most certainly make for an exciting as all hell football season.

From your typing fingers straight to the will of the football gods brother!!

Just looked.

4671 by carson Palmer in 2015 was the highest single season passing mark in Cardinals history.

Warner hit just over 4500 one year. But Palmer owns 3 of the top 5 slots in 2013, 2015, and 2016..
Then other than Warner, Neil Lomaxs 1984 campaign rounds out the top 5

Ah...I see... the post seemed to indicate receiving.
a thousand rushing from Love would be disappointing IMO..if we have the run heavy offense everyone is predicting I want nothing less than 1400 ground yards from him.
thats only 82 yards a game...at around 15 touches..about 5.6 yards per carry or so.
Those should all be doable numbers with average league blocking from a #3 overall pick. 15 carries per game is not heavy usage IMO...then add in 3-5 catches...should put him close to 2000yards total offense by seasons end

I can see a top 10 offense, especially if we're just talking about yards. Is Wilkinson bad enough to derail that? There is QB to worry about. But Jacoby is just bad at winning/scoring on the final drive when the game is on the line. Other than that, he's pretty good at yards and points.

we became one dimensional last year and brissett still got the ball out - if love makes us a real play-action threat we can throw down field more often - lafleur is going to be all over that
