I don't know how many of you have caught this story, but this dude is a projected top 10 pick next year and he is almost certainly going to get banned by the NCAA.

It is likely that he will end up in the supplemental draft in July.

Someone is going to roll the dice on this guy.

: Multiple NFL evaluators think Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby could potentially have been the top QB if he was available in this years draft, according to
@AlbertBreer

“The guy's pretty good; he would've had a good chance of being right there with Mendoza.... Just from the limited tape I saw, he looked better than Ty [Simpson]”

“His arm is electric. It would've been by far the best in this class....As a thrower, his arm would be top eight or so in the league.”

well hell, if he declares for the comp draft...toss out a 4th round offer and see what happens.

dont want to invest to high...taking him is a gamble, lol..and a fourth wont stop us from drafting a guy in the first if needed.
4 QB's competing for two spots would be a first in the desert I think..and would make camp pretty heated.

I think in that scenario Brissett would be the odd man out. Two rookies for the future and a Veteran backup that isn’t holding out for starter money.

oddly, of the various addictions, this one might freak the NFL out the most
I think you are absolutely correct. Every game he loses will be suspect, every pick he throws will be scrutinized. Someone will always bring up the gambling. This might sink him.

Which is a crying shame, addiction is a horrible thing. It destroys entire families.

If anyone wants to do a name bet, I will wager one Weenis against him getting drafted in the first round of any draft while in treatment for gambling.

Changed to any. I mean I does the CFL have a draft?

wouldnt that be something though?? To get a the same guy with a fourth round supplemental pick that we were likely to spend a top 5 pick on next april??
Us being the Cardinals is the only part that makes me so wary...
any other team I would have full confidence in the kids life long recovery and healthy future...
with us...I can see us being the first team the NFL ever took a game away from as they revoke our NFCC Trophy and send our opponent to the Super Bowl instead of us... because our QB's exe girlfriend appears to have an extra account on Fan Dual or some crap.

But yeah...the NFL would freak over gambling...all while the hypocritical bastards have betting centers all over the league

image is everything...the gamblers gotta know they can trust you...and they can trust you because you dont let any of them play in your league.

gotta wonder how deep the mob ties are with the NFL , lol... they have to have stake in at least a few teams..
I mean,...Chicago??
Not a stretch to assume that at some point the team was strapped for cash...needed $200 bucks to get new uniforms and jock straps for the defense... Mr Capone, being a huge fan...never asked a single question... just demanded a pair of seats for the game as a conditition for his help, lol

I'd bet that someone takes a flyer on him with a late round pick

:rimshot:

I don't see him making it beyond a 4th round pick.

I also would expect a team with an entrenched QB to be the team that takes the risk.

The "gambling problem" is going to take a while to get trust back and if you have a contested QB room I just don't see you gambling (HAHA!) on a guy who might throw a game if he thinks it's his only chance to clear his debts.

Many thoughts here.

His bets seem to have been for trivial amounts from what I have seen, more something for fun than a serious issue.

That makes it all the more dumb considering these rules and the consequences are hammered into players repeatedly. That volume of betting was asking to be caught.

I don't really have an issue with players betting when it's not on games they control, but I can see it's a slippery slope.

It would be highly hypocritical of the NFL to partner with betting sites but have an issue with a player that bets, that happened outside the NFL.

I very much doubt he gets his college eligibility back and I expect he will be in the supplemental draft.

I doubt the Cards will be in on him but someone surely will be.

Reportedly he gambled on Indiana’s games while he was there in 2022.

I don’t know. He is very gifted, so maybe you take a chance with a mid-round pick. Sell Brissett, prepare to start Beck, let LaFleur and Schaub evaluate Sorsby.

It is the perception the NFL and teams will be worried about. As someone in an earlier comment made every mistake made in games affecting final score (point spread) could be questioned.
