Even in the Day 2 presser all they spoke about was his experience. I don't recall anything about talent.

I will say one thing. I don't think he could have been drafted to a better situation. If there's a world in the multiverse where Beck succeeds it's this one.

He has an offensive HC and two veterans that lack top end talent, but who are both great pros. We all know how hard JB works off the field, but despite the public persona of Minshew everything I have heard about him is that he eats, drinks and sleeps football. Beck has two guys that he can really learn from, but which shouldn't be hard to beat out eventually if he's any good.

But I don't expect that to happen.
I do. Beck is more talented than either of them. Physically his biggest issue is that his arm still doesnt have the zip it had before the surgery... but its barely been a year,
Much like guys with ACL surgery take a year to get their full burst back,..an elbow takes a year...probably more a psychological issue much like the knee.
I aint worried about him being a jackass...its common among successful quarterbacks and the players are used to it.

It's a well known scientific fact that ugly QBs are doomed to fail.
oh this is true.
Biffs dont get it done.
a dude has to be a full on Chad to succeed in the NFL.

have they ever tested if plastic surgery helps?? Kinda like AI?
will making the guy pretty increase his win percentage??

Hopefully we got an outlier...because they exist...I mean,...Jimmy G has been a backup for years in his prime...and they dont get much prettier than Jimmy GQ

Or Bailey.
Stout...brother,....

I want to offer my most sincere condolances on the fate of Drew Allar.... I know we both wanted him to come here.
Getting drafted is good for the kid. But from a personal viewpoint...it has to be hard on you to see a kid you like going to....the Stillers....
Its hard to root for him to fail...but if he succeeds you have to suffer through hearing it all over the radio for years.

Im so sorry man.

What is the best QB landing spot beyond Mendoza to the Raiders?

Miller: Carson Beck with the Cardinals. The lack of a franchise quarterback in Arizona makes this kind of an obvious pick, but Beck is also a fantastic scheme fit with what Mike LaFleur wants to do with a timing-based passing attack. I'm not saying Beck will become the long-term starter, but he has a shot.

Drew is a lifelong Browns' fan. He wouldn't even put on the Steelers' hat that was given for him to wear after being drafted by Pittsburgh. Imagine being drafted by a team that, as a fan, you have hated your entire life...

You'd be surprised how a couple of million dollars improves your looks ;)
His ex girlfriend is all over the place all of a sudden. Looks like he was doing pretty good.

I'd say Brissett gets the extension with Beck learning for a year, or seeing action as the backup. Or they don't pay Brissett, and Beck starts. Both seem possible.
Imho If Brissett plays us into losing games we will see Beck rather soon Veneble said Halloween Ime think Early Oct but if Brissett is playing Good and we are at 500 or better he may just sit the entire year Another question I have just what team would he Start against thats a tougher question to me

Everyone keep saying how his arm was shot after the elbow surgery, well maybe im missing something but I dont see a difference watching Ga tape and the Miami tape. Same zip and arm strength (throwing a td from backfoot) in Miami like in Ga.

I'm one of the few who thought that Jacoby did a pretty good job, considering that his running game was lost early on. Naturally, interested on how Carson Beck does in the PS. And, I disregard when reading about W-L, unless it was the QB who gave games away.

B/t/w, our much better Offense, imo, will be a big help to the Defense by eliminating a lot of three and outs. A lot to be excited about.

Beck entered college football the same year as CJ Stroud, who is about to start his 4th season in the NFL. Guy must really love college!
My issue with Simpson as well.

At least with Beck he has played on some of the biggest stages and won. It also didn’t take him 5 years to finally play.

Arron Rogers and Brett Farve Steve Young and quite a few others
I dont think you understood the question. What players were thrown into the starting position too soon and it set back their career. Aaron Rogers did not make his first start until his third season, so that does not qualify. And Steve Young's career was not set back by becoming a starter too soon, it was just that he was Joe Montana's back up.

Anyway. I just don't think this applies to Beck. He is 24. He has lots of college experience at a high level. And we need to know now what he has. He needs to face an open competition. If he cannot beat out Brissett for the job, then we need to draft a top QB next year.

on one hand, I wasn't a fan of Beck

on the other, I am the same guy who predicted in Jan or so that Garret Nussmeier would sneak into round 1

so we all have that going for us.

Agree 100% and add in the fact that both JB and Beck will be learning a new system, it makes sense to see who the best fit is first before making any starting job decisions regardless of age or experience. Also, if quick internet search proves to be true, both AR and Steve Young were 24 when they began as starting QB.

I wasn’t a big fan of taking Beck in the 3rd round because I think he would have been available in the 4th. (Maybe, maybe not. Who knows?) I saw Beck on Coach Gruden’s QB show and was impressed with our new QB. He seemed knowledgable. I don’t know what’s in his heart and head. I came away thinking Beck can start before the year is out. If the incumbent with his 1-11 record is trying to push the Cards into giving him an extension, he better be careful. The unemployment line is a lonely place to be.
