What on earth are you talking about?

People banging on young dudes is so tiring. Not everyone is A type personality.

K1 is an obvious introvert not everyone fits in a little box.

We already have people talking about Beck because he has flare and tattoos.

Dear Lord

You know I wanted him to succeed more than anyone here 602.

But you can type from now until doomsday but you’ll never convince me K1 loves playing the game.

And, not once in seven years or whatever did he say “I need to be better”. It was always “we need to be better”. I think (this my opinion) he has an issue with personal accountability. Plus All the pouting and sulking 24/7. Zero fire.

I’m not saying he’s evil or anything. But maybe a little arrogant and lacking in perspective too. Immature.

Bottom line is that He didn’t make it here because he didn’t want it bad enough. (And maybe because he gets knicked up so easily but mainly because he didn’t want it bad enough). He’s wasting the amazing amazing talent he was gifted with, and that’s anathema to a guy like me ( and I would guess to a guy like you too but maybe not).

Call me a hater or whatever but I think it’s pretty fair.

I am not very good at the predicting game so I have no idea how it will turn out but since he is on the Cardinals I hope he turns out to be a steal. I definitely not rooting on the guy to fail.
I am essentially the same way friend:

I am not a huge fan of this dude's personality, but he does play for the Cards now and hopefully he can perform to the standard he was a lot of the times in college. In the grand scheme of things, this is not a deep QB draft anyway imo but we were always going to take one: Beck is the one.

Will see what happens.

Jesus, what a jackass type of pick.

Offers literally nothing & is known for throwing his teammates under the bus. He is worse than Kyler in that regard (who, I don’t remember him ever doing that, just the coach).
Offers literally nothing is a bit much. If he shows in preseason the best parts of when he played in college, he is easily better than what we have on the roster now. Not saying the dude is going to be a Pro Bowler, not that delusional, but personality issues aside if you will, he has some talent when he wants to show it.

he definitely under went UCL surgery. He didn’t do the common Tommy John replacement procedure which would have cost him the 2025 season. Instead he got the internal brace surgery. Most observers feel he’s lost some velocity on his throws.
@Harry, is it possible that his arm strength could improve after another off season, or is the degradation expected to be permanent?

It's a 3 win team. They have mid talent at most positions. They need up grade almost everywhere and to build better depth. TE is the only position, before this draft, that didn't need some love. I'd add RB to that list now since they did give it some Love. Throwing away 3rd round pick doesn't do that.
Thank you. What is the goal here? I hope it's to put together a championship level team. To look at our current roster and think we're anywhere near that goal is the height of delusion. The best teams have lots of above average starters - I'd love for @Proximo or anyone else to name our above average starters.

Third round picks, especially in the top 3 picks of the round HAVE to be guys that are future building blocks of the team. We wasted ours on a guy who's ceiling is backup QB. Those guys are available all the time!!!

Monti has stated that he wants to build through the draft and in the trenches. It's total nonsense. He's shown zero aptitude to do either of these things, and now we're blowing valuable 3rd round picks on backup qb's.

I just did a search and apparently full recovery from a UCL can take 18 months for full recovery, so even during last season, he wasn't in the full recovery window.

The ligament takes awhile to fully set from what I'm reading, so he should be better going forward

The UCL surgery Beck had done (Internal Brace surgery) does not have the same recovery time as the Tommy John surgery which takes twice as long to recover. Either way, it appears the Internal Brace can be 6-9 months of recovery and I'm guessing longer for full strength and mobility.

I'm not a doctor but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Surely Beck starts

Otherwise why take him?

If the thinking is let him fight for a spot with Brissett and Minshew in 2026 and we'll draft our QB in Rnd 1 next year, why not just do that with Brissett/Minshew and spend this year's 3rd on something else?

Surely we picked him because Monti thinks he's capable of being our guy long term, in which case he plays and we get to spend our Rnd 1 pick elsewhere in 12 months time.

Otherwise it was just wasting an early 3rd round pick to tread water for a year

Nah. 3rd rounder quarterbacks who develop into starters are exceedingly rare

"There is a fine line in taking what happened and taking the experience and using that to get better next week," Murray said. "Coaching guys. Where did we mess up? Where can I get better? What was he thinking, what was I thinking? And grow that way.

I was trying to think of a QB comparison for Beck and I am going old school. His stature in the pocket, throwing motion, and deep ball remind me quite a bit of Neil Lomax, former St. Louis and 1 year Phoenix Cardinals.
If he is as good as Neil Was a hell of a lot of people are going to be eating Crow one of the moderators on here is named after his fave reciever too (Jet Stream Green)

Fine I’ll cop to being wrong Chris but I’m sure you noticed he still led the quote with how do we get better and him saying I is I think the exception not the rule.

Again not saying he’s a bad guy or anything. I do not wish him ill.

I just don’t think his heart is all the way in it and I disapprove because I don’t think that’s fair to his teammates and fans.

I could be wrong about that too though.
