At worst, he lives up to his name. I sure don't trust Monti, but even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while. Let's see what MLF can do with him.

This doesn't make sense because by this time next year how are we going to know if this "works out". He's not going to start 10 games and give us a definitive answer one way or another.

Obviously I'll root for him, but the timing doesn't make sense.
Short of Jacoby lighting it up, beck will be playing by October. If he shines great, if there is still a lot of doubt we go qb in 2027. We have no loyalty to a 3rd round QB.

This is the kind of pick where in a couple of years we’ll look back and say “so and so was available at 65 but we took practice squad QB Beck”

Perhaps. Crazy things happen though and maybe he surprises people. It's not like Brissett or Minshew are going to take the team far this year. At least now I will be somewhat still interested in watching games if he plays after a 0-4/1-5 start.

I dont think Beck starts a single game before we are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. After that he will be a tank commander.
Agreed.

This wasn't a QBOTF pick. Its more like getting someone else in the room to soften the QB narrative set by having Brissett and Minshew as your only options.

We will be very much "all in" on the QBs in 2027.

I’m okay with this pick.

Won’t preclude QB in first next year.

Has played in a ton of big games. And won some of them.

Big and has feet.

Poor draft talent overall. Not any player I craved in third.

Wasn’t drafted in the second round.

This is fine.
I agree with this. can’t put all your eggs in one basket looking for a QB of the future. You have to spend draft capital to find one. There is no guarantee all those QB’s for next year will be as highly rated after this season.

And about being unlikable, well he is young. Grayson Allen was totally unlikable in college and now we love him.

I think Beck gets a look pretty quickly.

We're going to be bad, I think they will want a good long look at him this year, and I think he's going to fall on his face.

Watching some of his highlight film and this kid CJ Daniels looks like a really good wideout. Wouldn’t mind taking a flyer in the 4th or 5th

And we did just that.

Well, he is our potential starting QB now and we need to support him, just like the K1 fans used to tell everyone on the board. (How was Beck in high school, BTW?)

So, Go Carson !! He does have a lot of weapons on offense.

Let's go !!

After some quick research...

Beck was born on November 19, 2002, in Jacksonville, Florida. He attended Mandarin High School and was named the 2018 Florida Mr. Football after throwing for 3,546 yards and 30 touchdowns as a junior. Beck led Mandarin to a Florida State Championship, throwing for five touchdowns in the championship game.

I am not going to lie, I am glad he is tall.
And that he played a lot of competitive college football.

Our last starting QB was only 14-2 in college. Many thought we were going to draft Ty Simpson who was only 11-4 in college.

Instead, we drafted Beck who went 37-6 in college, won 2 national championships, and was runner-up in another season.
