Agreed. I understand the need on the o line but am extra pick I hope it's not another Darius Robinson flopIf we trade down we will get lowballed. Just preparing everyone.

Works only if they believe you’d really take him. If you don’t want him do you take him out of spite if they won’t trade.I got no response to my proposal, either pro or con, and I can't understand why. To me it seems like a great idea, but with no response, I must be missing something.
Harry, it works IF they believe that you've gotten calls from teams that WANT him. And want to move in front of Tenn.Works only if they believe you’d really take him. If you don’t want him do you take him out of spite if they won’t trade.

The Darius Robinson pick was a flop. Yes he got injured but let's be honest. I didn't say the cards got low balled but it was a bad pickHe didn't get lowballed last time. (in terms of picks/value) Why would we expect it this time?
Lowballed relative top the usual trade value in the top 5. If you put our Texans trade into the calculator we got a ton of extra value, on paper it was an unfair trade in our favor. This is normal for picks in the top 5, where teams are trading up for QBs or elite prospects. He didn't get lowballed last time. (in terms of picks/value) Why would we expect it this time?
2023 and 2026 drafts are apples and oranges. I’m starting to think we’ll do okay in a trade down but I’m certain it won’t be 2023 in terms of pick value. Hope I’m wrong. He didn't get lowballed last time. (in terms of picks/value) Why would we expect it this time?
Wow, that calculator is WAY off from the Drafttek / Jimmy Johnson trade value chart, which has the Cardinals' #3 pick worth 2200 points vs. the Chiefs' #9 @ 1350 and #29 @ 640, leaving them 210 points short. The Chiefs' #10 pick in the 3rd round is worth 220, which would make the trade nearly even by the traditional measure.Lowballed relative top the usual trade value in the top 5. This year, without elite prospects to trade up for, teams might follow the trade chart inside the top 5. If we trade back with the Chiefs, fans would except picks 9 and 29. But on paper that is a very unfair trade.
A fair trade would be we trade picks #3 and #104 for the Chiefs #9 and #40.

Hoping for 9 and 29 for 3 and a swap of second rounders. Otherwise, stick and pick. This is the type of draft where I'm okay not getting the full "top 5" trade value. Trading down, taking an OT but upgrading our 4th rounder to a 2nd rounder is a hell of a lot better than just taking the OT at 3.
Wait, why would we PAY another team a swap of 2nd rounders two move DOWN in the draft? This would be the height of stupidity. Even Monti isn't this dumb, is he?Hoping for 9 and 29 for 3 and a swap of second rounders. Otherwise, stick and pick.
For an extra pick to select Ty Simpson and get his 5th year option. If we are going to cough up a draft pick and our 2nd to move into the bottom of the first for Simpson anyway we wouldn't lose that draft pick. (8 total picks instead of 6.)Wait, why would we PAY another team a swap of 2nd rounders two move DOWN in the draft? This would be the height of stupidity. Even Monti isn't this dumb, is he?
Any team that wants to trade up and wants us to pay for the privilege should be met with a "MFer, do I look stupid to you?" No. You do NOT repeat the Suggs trade. No way in hell! And while the number of picks would be the same, the positioning of the 1st rounders would represent a loss. Hell, even being in the same convo as the Suggs trade should make it a verboten subject. For an extra pick to select Ty Simpson and get his 5th year option. The draft chart is unofficial. It’s a made up tool to look at. I agree about giving back a pick but I think Monty is desperate enough to kick back a day 3 pick.Wow, that calculator is WAY off from the Drafttek / Jimmy Johnson trade value chart, which has the Cardinals' #3 pick worth 2200 points vs. the Chiefs' #9 @ 1350 and #29 @ 640, leaving them 210 points short. Perhaps your trade calculator is trying to account for the perceived weakness at the top of this year's draft - but even so, the Cardinals should certainly not be the team throwing in additional capital beyond the swap of first rounders with the Chiefs!
Value is relative to the strength of the pool. If your confident you can get a useful player at both 9 & 29 it may be a good trade. The Cards have plenty of of holes. I think it’s a thin trade and 29 is a gamble but if they’re thinking IOL or WR 3/4 at 29, maybe it works. 9 would get you a decent RT.Wow, that calculator is WAY off from the Drafttek / Jimmy Johnson trade value chart, which has the Cardinals' #3 pick worth 2200 points vs. the Chiefs' #9 @ 1350 and #29 @ 640, leaving them 210 points short. Smokescreen ….if they pick a running back over Bailey we will be more of a laughing stock than we already are…speculation is they may take Simpson at 9 or 12 with fear the rams could take him at 13 ….per Johnny venerable….would rather get a offensive tackle and ty than love at 3…..xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
The Cards don't know how to smokescreen. The reports that come out about this team around draft time are usually true.Smokescreen ….if they pick a running back over Bailey we will be more of a laughing stock than we already are…speculation is they may take Simpson at 9 or 12 with fear the rams could take him at 13 ….per Johnny venerable….would rather get a offensive tackle and ty than love at 3…..
Almost every "trade back" I see has us looking like we got fleeced, honestly. So I'm bracing for it on draft night. Unfortunately, Monti has the same "smartest guy in the room" energy as Keim. We'll end up with two players whose ceiling is being a middle-tier starter in the league and call it a victory because of positional value, while moving off of guys who become All-Pro or at least Pro Bowlers.Wait, why would we PAY another team a swap of 2nd rounders two move DOWN in the draft? Love won’t be all pro until we get some mashers on the o line….but let’s draft a running back at 3….hey it worked for the giants and raiders….and the falcons became a playoff team….Almost every "trade back" I see has us looking like we got fleeced, honestly. Yup, Mo's MO is usually pretty transparent. I can see them going Love at 3 and banking on Simpson being available at 34.The Cards don't know how to smokescreen. The reports that come out about this team around draft time are usually true.
Would be a good optics play to get the fan base more excited. I could see it happening. I would still be very concerned about the right side of the OL.Yup, Mo's MO is usually pretty transparent. I can see them going Love at 3 and banking on Simpson being available at 34.
I'm repeating myself from other threads, but yes, in a vacuum, if you think players have comparable value, go OL in this situation. Unfortunately, there aren't "mashers" in this draft, in my opinion. There's middling, non-elite players in Mauigoa or Fano. Don't reach desperately to find a "masher" that isn't really any good.Love won’t be all pro until we get some mashers on the o line….but let’s draft a running back at 3….hey it worked for the giants and raiders….and the falcons became a playoff team….
