Arizona Cardinals

Picks: Nos. 3, 34, 65, 104, 143, 132, 217

The Cardinals are in desperate need of an offensive identity. Though star tight end Trey McBride is certainly legit, it's hard to run an entire offense through the tight end and nobody else. A few seasons ago, the identity was the physical running game powered by James Conner. But the offensive line hasn't taken a step forward, and Conner is returning from a major foot injury. The hope that Marvin Harrison Jr. would prove so dominant a receiving threat that the offense could run with him looks duller and duller by the day.

Grabbing a quarterback of the future (i.e., Ty Simpson) at the draft would serve the Cardinals well. Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew collectively hit the cap for less than $15 million in 2026, and neither is signed beyond the season. There's plenty of room for a third passer who can sit and develop. Simpson probably would cost pick No. 34, or perhaps Arizona would make a small trade up into the first round to secure the fifth-year option. Using such a pick would not at all deter the Cardinals from taking a superior prospect in the early first round of the 2027 draft. After all, this is the same team that selected Kyler Murray No. 1 just one year after drafting Josh Rosen with the No. 10 pick.

If the Cardinals instead elect to approach the quarterback spot patiently, then they should build through the line. Francis Mauigoa (Miami) could slide naturally into the void at right tackle, but the third pick is rich for his talent level -- a small trade back would be best. The Cardinals should pray that the Jets take David Bailey at No. 2 so they can drum up trade interest around Arvell Reese at No. 3. Both center and right guard could stand improvements as well, and No. 34 is a great spot for guards Keylan Rutledge (Georgia Tech) and Chase Bisontis (Texas A&M).

The Cardinals do have a defensive need at edge rusher, though the continued return to health of BJ Ojulari and development of tweener Jordan Burch could be enough at that position. It's a deep edge-rusher class, and adding another speed threat in Jaishawn Barham (Michigan) or Dani Dennis-Sutton (Penn State) in Round 3 would give Arizona another reasonable dart throw at the position.

The bottom line: Herald in a new offensive identity with either an early QB selection or a heavy investment in the offensive line.

3. Arizona Cardinals

NFC general manager's pick: David Bailey, Edge, Texas Tech

"Can I trade this pick?" was the question posed by the NFC general manager when looking at the board, but deals aren't allowed in this mock draft. The Cardinals will find themselves with a decision on Day 1, with several talented players available and a team like the Dallas Cowboys potentially willing to make a splash move up the board.

When forced to stick and pick, our evaluator went with Bailey, a polished pass rusher.

"You know exactly what you're getting with Bailey, and they have a need for an outside rusher that can consistently force the edge," they said. "Pairing Bailey with [defensive tackle] Walter Nolen [III] and [cornerback] Will Johnson would give Arizona a foundation of youth to build the defense around. But man, you'd love a quarterback here."

Bailey's lone season at Texas Tech after transferring from Stanford was fruitful, as he led the nation with 14.5 sacks in 2025. He also had 10 forced fumbles in his college career. Bailey has a quick first step and is relentless in pursuing the ball carrier.

Reuter's 7 round Mock.

Has the Cards selecting the following player in the first 3 rounds:

1. Edge - David Bailey
2. RT - Max Iheanachor
3. QB - Carson Beck

I would be very happy with those first 3 picks!

Of the teams with two first-round picks, the Giants are in the best position to make significant additions to their roster, as both their picks are in the Top 10: Their own first-round pick is No. 5 overall and the Bengals’ first-round pick is No. 10 overall.

The Dolphins have their own pick (No. 11) as well as the Broncos’ pick (No. 30) from the Jaylen Waddle trade.

The Jets have their own pick (No. 2) and the Colts’ pick (No. 16) from the Sauce Gardner trade.

The Cowboys have their own pick (No. 12) and the Packers’ pick (No. 20) from the Micah Parsons trade.

The Chiefs have their own pick (No. 9) and the Rams’ pick (No. 29) from the Trent McDuffie trade.

The Browns have their own pick (No. 6) and the Jaguars’ pick (No. 24) from the draft-day trade a year ago that allowed the Jaguars to move up to draft Travis Hunter.

Okay, you want a big complicated rumor, here it is. As I posted a while back. The Boys are offering 12 & 20 to the Cards. Reese is indeed the target. No deal if the Jets select him, but they’re confident they won’t. The Cards haven’t said yes but assured they’d get back to Dallas if the Cards get a better offer. IMO meaning the Boys need to add a pick or drop 20 and add their 2027 first. The Cards picking at 12 want Mauigoa or Fano. If they’re both gone they want to trade down again.

So, another Monti is a moron trade, huh?
I still think the Paris/Anderson trade was fine on paper. This trade isn't. I'll be quite angry if this is all he gets for trading down with the Cowboys.

Stick and pick Love/Bailey if you want less value. Sheesh.

It also sounds like KC is talking with cards to move up to 3.

One trade i get completed on the mock sites:

KC receives: 3 and 65
Cards receive: 9, 29 and 40.
Here I traded with KC for that package…

Then completed a simultaneous trade down and up with Dallas:

That's OT, QB, and OG right there...with DT at 34.
Could work out.
Or OG at 34.. or OC...whatever..
But it gives us ammo to fix the line and take an early flier on QB

This type of trade could actually happen; the Titans get antsy and trade up because rumors were swirling they would miss out on their guy.

3 & 65 for 4 & 35? Yes please.

The Chiefs then call and offer 9 & 29 for 4. The Cardinals have already decided they were going to address OL and they are confident they can still get their guy at 9 so they make the trade.

Mauigoa has been the target all along and the Cardinals get him while adding significant draft capital in the process. They also get their QB target, who they not only met with at the combine but also brought in for a 30 visit.

At the top of the 2nd round they add a quality guard and their speed rusher in Howell. I loved getting McClellan at 104, he probably goes earlier in real life.
