The funny thing about Chriss is he pretty much had a universal approval rating after his rookie year and was universal disliked after 2 years.Please, no Marquese Chriss comparisons.

ok i think we need to talk about it lol - manman may have a mean streak
diabate blocks gillespie's shot - he was filling full of himself running down court when maluach starts chest bumping him around halfcourt - then starts giving him the dillon brooks business as diabate was trying to establish position
it was clear as day - khaman started handchecking (and moving) diabate - diabate tried to ignore khaman until khaman said something that frustrated diabate and he knocked khaman's hand away aggressively which only made khaman laugh
seconds later diabate has the ball and khaman just takes it from him
diabate wasn't a factor at all after that little interaction

maluach had a rough go on defense last night choosing where to be and when to defend the rim - turner hitting all those 3s because manman kept babysitting the paint - didn't know when to go over or under screens
but with the struggles came benefits - the bucks were worried about maluach's rebounding ability and unlike oso - khaman was finishing at the hole
when we went small ball with fleming at center one of our staff members was sitting with maluach and they were watching fleming play - that was pretty cool

He's gotta stay down-down.
At his length, he doesn't really need to jump against most players, as long as he isn't out of position. They need to start drilling him on defensive positioning. Not that he doesn't already know this, but they need to drill it into him so that it eventually becomes second nature.

my man maluach only rocked 4 minutes last night vs toronto - shot 2 free throws (made them) and got 1 rebound but production wasn't the problem
i get it now - the talk about spacing - maluach doesn't see the game yet or what book and (especially) jalen are trying to do - manman doesn't know when to get out of the way or even when he's in the way
if the roll after the pick and roll is a no go - get out of the way - take your defender with you - oso was having issues with this as well
fleming.. he doesn't really roll - he sets his screen and then sets up outside at the 3 - if he doesn't get the ball he crashes the boards or gets back on d - but if the play takes awhile he slinks further down into the corner 3 and stays there lol - grayson got mad at him for not being there a couple games ago
i think that's what maluach needs to do for now - that or follow the play and hope for a rebound/putback because khaman needs a lot of work on the pick and roll - it's all improv - he needs a script
but if maluach really wants minutes he needs to do ish nobody else can do - on this team that is rebounding imo - ott loves possessions like he loves defense

Fleming loses position on defenders sometimes, but his make up ability and super freaky athleticism, let him recover and block guys who think they beat him.

The very last highlight is what I am talking about. Man Man had 9 rebounds prior to that play. He grabs a missed shot and tries to put it back in the basket and is fouled on the attempt. Was that not a rebound? Should he have not had his first double double?

nobody drafted a center for the first 9 picks of an nba draft - i didn't understand it then and still don't today - especially with maluach being right there for the taking - we got incredibly lucky

been 2 short weeks since this post - khaman has already improved on getting out of jalen's way and when to roll with book - the timing and spacing is coming together - the rebounding is improving and he's not taking the bait on defense - he's covering his man then protecting the rim
