Phoenix Suns rookie center Khaman Maluach neared a double-double in the G League on Friday, leading the Valley Suns to a road win over the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Maluach finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots in the 116-110 victory at the Sanford Pentagon. He went 9-of-12 from the field in 28 minutes, 28 seconds as the Suns improved to 8-13 in the regular season.

The 10th overall pick had the opportunity to log extended minutes in the contest, showcasing his scoring down low and ability to clean the glass. He threw down several emphatic dunks throughout the game and served as a great lob threat in the paint.

Maluach has played sporadically for coach Jordan Ott and the Suns this season, averaging only 4.8 minutes across 24 appearances. He has been behind the likes of Mark Williams and Nick Richards in the rotation, leaving him out of the mix.

The 7-footer has made 10 appearances in the G League, averaging 15.8 points, 12.4 rebounds, 2.6 blocks and 1.2 assists while shooting 52.7% shooting from the field. He has registered seven double-doubles, including a 22-point, 21-rebound effort on Dec. 11.

Maluach was highly touted out of Duke because of his size, defensive potential and ability to work down low. Though he has spent the year mostly in a developmental role, the organization has been pleased with his work ethic and daily progress on and off the court.
