The big problem is he is fixing almost nothing, and certainly not building the team to be competitive around a young QB next season. The starting OG he signed is old. The RB room is about as good as it was heading into last year. He's effectively trying to build the belly of the team--still, four years later, and he hasn't gotten it right--and cutting all of his many, many mistakes. Jeebus, man, he is bad.I think clearly Ossenfort was not in a position to fix everything. I don’t think Murray was a playoff QB and I’m not sure one was available now that Murray has been resolved. For all the people criticizing that the Cards didn’t sign Willis, I’ve yet to see a reliable post indicating Willis would play for the Cards. I do think it’s fair that Ossenfort should be held responsible for now building a roster that could win with a quality QB at the helm.

OL greatly improved, but iff season has a long way to go.Exactly what has he "fixed" this off-season?
What position on the team is clearly better now than it was a year ago?
i went looking and couldnt find it, but:We have a ton of cap space next season guys.

Zero proof of this but please tell us more.OL greatly improved, but iff season has a long way to go.
It's a great question.Better question… what has he fixed since THREE years ago?!
I would disagree with "greatly". These two guys we signed this year are stiffs.OL greatly improved, but iff season has a long way to go.
We were better with McBride and Ertz than we are with McBride and Higgins. It's a great question.
Other than TE, I don't think ANY position is significantly better than 3 years ago. Gannon's team was WORSE than KK's last team.
It’s just talk until they playZero proof of this but please tell us more.
Lucky they don’t start todayI would disagree with "greatly". These two guys we signed this year are stiffs.
Pryor being called a starter if the season started today? That would be a joke. I know, I know. We will use the number 3 pick on a RT. Yippee.
“Greatly?” We signed one starter. A good one. But an old one. “Greatly” . . . ehhhhOL greatly improved, but iff season has a long way to go.
Sickening that the negativity has got to the point where this happens

Never let Keim win.
It is really grim.I think some of the teams from the late 70’s were pretty bad
And post Lomax pre Plummer had some dark days for certain.
Of course there was 2018.
But this current roster might be the most hopeless of the St. Louis + Arizona era.
Rallis being retained and Monti running this next draft makes it even less inspiring.
Coming off 8-9 in 2024 it wasn’t hard to talk ourselves into 10 wins in 2025.
Instead that was one of the most disappointing seasons in history, and incredibly we’re still tracking downward.
The organization is in free fall.
Maybe that is all Monti could get and the better players just don't want to come here.It is really grim.
The free agents we have signed are all backup types. At the very best, marginal starters. And we are going to draft a RT or a RB who will almost immediately wreck their knee.
Many guards are just getting good at his age. They often play a long time.“Greatly?” We signed one starter. A good one. But an old one. “Greatly” . . . ehhhh
It’s an issue!Maybe that is all Monti could get and the better players just don't want to come here.
Yeah, I noticed you like to throw that term around. Is that supposed to be trenches? Thank the awful coaching, and scouting for that. They draft from the same pool. Thank the poverty free agency...blah blahWhat? Name them. How many Big Johns do we have on this team? It shouldn't take long because there aren't many.
Interesting point, Twitter bleater with <8k followers. This is pure what if scenario. But I may change my tune a bit on Monti if he had the cajones to pull this off:

oh hell yeah! can't wait to not spend that next year either and read all the articles talking about what great shape our cap is in... without mentioning the shape of the actual team.We have a ton of cap space next season guys.
Please be excited.

Also only 27 rostered players RN, including guys we’ll be talking about wanting to trade as early as right now:oh hell yeah! can't wait to not spend that next year either and read all the articles talking about what great shape our cap is in... without mentioning the shape of the actual team.
Signed Trey to an extension. What do I win? Please explain Monti's approach. Sign backup level players and try to sell them as starters is all I see.
Or is it, mess up the draft, mess up free agency, mess up the coaching hire? He's spent money on 1 legit free agent. Lo and behold, that guy is one of their better players. What a shock. Sweat is the ONLY good thing he has done since becoming GM. I challenge anyone to give me a 2nd.
Only 28. I’d kick the tires. This is pure what if scenario. But I may change my tune a bit on Monti if he had the cajones to pull this off:
