Feel bad for anyone still buying tickets to this circus.
Why? Everyone spending that money knew exactly what they were in for when they agreed to spend it. This organization is too predictable.

Jacoby starts the first six weeks, goes 1-5.

Minshew starts the next six weeks, goes 2-4.

Ty Simpson gets a five-week, no-pressure audition to end the year.

Goes 1-4.

Monti is fired Jan 6; turning that date into a reason to celebrate.
Or Simpson goes 4-1, with smoke and mirrors in meanless games to finish with 7 wins. We are national darlings again going into the off season and he saves his job and rinse and repeat.

You people have no idea what you ask for

If I had a say in any of this the Cardinals would never have moved here and we'd have gotten an expansion team in the 90s.

I fully expect this team to suck, I also think Monty is not a good GM, I also think our QB situation got screwed, long term, the moment Kiem drunkenly gave Kyler that putrid contract. Monty was stuck with him until this year with no way out. He had 3 years to figure out what the alternative might be when the time come when we could finally move off Kyler, he appears to have had no plan.

I find myself hoping we draft Ty Simpson in the off chance that he's a solid QB, even though I dont think much of him at the next level. This is how bad it is at the moment.

I also think we'd need to trade back into the first round with a late pick to get him.

Thanks, I do what I can.

I don't want to sound too negative, but man...

In my lifetime, the Cards have only had two, extremely brief, windows of relevance. One came when we had 2 all pro receivers and stumbled into a hall of fame QB who magically found out he needed to wear some gloves.

And the other was when we hired one of the best coaches in football, who had somehow slipped through the cracks. We had some monster talent on both sides of the ball for a bit, however, after having a few years of the Bidwills Bruce "retired", unretired, and promptly won a superbowl elsewhere.

The Bidwells hire bad front office people who can't manage the cap, who make bad signings, bad picks and hire bad coaches.

NFL has such a level of parity that, even the Cardinals, can occasionally not be terrible, but it's never sustainable.

If the Cards win a playoff game in the next 4 years then LaFlauer is one of our random diamonds in the rough.

I'm sure there are a couple Kyler stans who think this is a post that shows the franchise failed him... but no... hiring KK, drafting Kyler for him, extending them both... it's all a symptom of the larger disease.

Why is everyone surprised?

Much of the talk on here for the past 2 months has been that there are no good QB options. What did you think next year was going to be? We'd magic up some QB from somewhere and somehow be playoff contenders?

Next season was already written off. I said this weeks ago. I think JB played well despite the record (people here will simultaneously say that Kyler's record was not on him, but all of JB's is) and can win games with a better O line and a bunch of players back. A better scheme will help too.

But we are in the best division in football without a franchise QB. All the options at QB finish us in 4th, if we picked 1st and drafted Mendoza we finish 4th. Ty Simpson gets us 4th. Malik Willis gets us 4th. Bagent 4th. JB 4th. Cousins 4th. Tua 4th. Geno 4th. Every option would be the worst in the division.

The only difference is how far away from 3rd we are and how much fun it is getting there.

To really cheer you up, I'd be surprised if the Cards draft Ty Simpson either.

1, Cards are going to be drafting high in 2027 with or without Simpson
2, Simpson has some of the concerns Kyler had. Lack of college reps. No prototypical size. I doubt they want to go down that road again.
3, Why draft a guy that's not a sure thing in the high 1st or early 2nd when in a much better 2027 class you're almost certainly picking top 5? Your putting yourself in Josh Rosen territory again.

What have you seen from him that makes you think he's a potential NFL starter?

He only had one year as a starter in college and he was a huge disappointment.
What? Alabama won because of Simpson. He carried that team to the playoffs. Sure, he fell short when he got injured.

I am not saying they should draft him, but calling him a disappointment is unknowledgeable.

Look at how well starvin for Marvin has worked out for us. He almost has 900 yards last season

We should hang a banner

lol dude

1, We didn't tank for Marvin
2, Marv is going to be great.

I told you Trey was going to be great when ya'll were complaining. I told you Mike was great when you were all complaining. Maybe stop complaining and giving the the opportunity to prove you wrong?

You still, despite your extensive moaning, actually proposed a solution. An alternative plan that you would have done. But then, you just like to moan.

If our GM does great offseason work and MLF is good, we can get to over .500 and at least stay in the hunt. I have faith in MLF, but none in Monti, so we're screwed.

Wishcasting. What has MLF done to have faith in?

We all very much hope he's great, but he's done nothing to have faith in.
