Looking at the Suns roster, if they eventually waive Cole Anthony, they will have two standard roster spots open.

The Suns only have to carry 14 players. My guess is the Suns will carry 15 players when they are able to prorate salaries that fit under the salary cap.

That leaves two potential openings to fill.

Bouyea could be added to the standard roster but I don't think it's a lock as it appeared earlier in the season.

Here is what the roster looks like at this moment in time. Position labels are subjective:

Guards:

Devin Booker PG/SG
Jalen Green SG
Grayson Allen SG
Collin Gillespie PG
Jordan Goodwin PG/SG
Cole Anthony PG

Forwards:

Dillon Brooks SF/PF
Ryan Dunn SF
Rasheer Fleming PF
Royce O'Neale F
Amir Coffey SF/SG

Centers:

Mark Williams C
Oso Ighodoro C/PF
Khaman Maluach C

--------------------------------

Two-way contracts:

Koby Brea G
Isaiah Livers F
Jamaree Bouyea PG

Livers is often injured and Bouyea's 3 is way too streaky. I doubt we convert either. Instead, I'd think we need a banger-type C like Bagley or so, and another PF from the buyout mkt, for the PO runs.

We'll see. I'm not sure who is or will become available.

The Suns may have some players in mind, beyond the players they have under contract, waiting for their prorated salaries to fit under the salary cap.

Phoenix could simply leave Bouyea and Livers on two-way contracts, limiting NBA games played, and decide later. They will have to add a 14th player though if they waive Cole Anthony.

The idea flipped through my head, the Suns might want to add him to their roster so he could retire a Sun. It's probably unlikely though. The Suns need a contributor that fits their style of play.

Bouyea came in like gang busters but has fallen off quite a bit lately. Much like the Suns as a whole.
