1. Mike sure loves his uber-mod architecture. I hope thats just a concept

2. I believe the Cards bought the site the Coyotes were after.

A side note about this. Anyone thinking that MB will be selling this team anytime soon will be greatly disappointed. No way MB makes an investment like this and just moves on from the team. To me this new facility means MB is here to stay like it or not.

meh...it increases the sale value of the team.

dont get me wrong...mike wont ever sell... but it has nothing to do with building a new training facility

Still funny that this was the land the Coyotes wanted and the city of Phoenix said nahhhh we'll pass on that.

the Coyotes assumed the State would steer it to them -- and the State said "there is a higher bidder" who was the Cardinals.

Mikey could do the craziest thing ever and join the Doan ownership group and bring the Coyotes back to AZ. It seems that property is probably large enough to have the arena with their practice facility.

I would have oriented the building literally opposite of that. I would have rotated it 180 degrees and put all of the utility spaces on the west and south sides. They do practice in the morning so you could make an argument for mirroring it so the vertical wing is on the east side.

Yep. I can imagine traffic coming to a stop there when the Cards are practicing...needs to face away from the freeway.

It'd be baked into the sale price. Sarver actually spent money on a new training facility shortly before he sold as well.

real question is if they actually develop the rest of the acreage into mixed use residential and retail.

If that sits as desert for a few years, I would guess they are holding it for a potential new stadium.

“When I was looking at this property, I waited because what I wanted was the most premier location for the Cardinals. Our players deserve it. Our coaches deserve it. Our fans deserve it.” - #AZCardinals owner Michael Bidwill on the new world-class performance center.
