Will the old facility be turned over to the city of Tempe eventually? I seem to remember reading that land was leased from Tempe and not outright owned, or am I wrong on that?

The Bidwills want a new stadium in Scottsdale in around 8-10 years. Scottsdale probably wants this too.

Probably increases the value of the franchise by a billion or two. Also allows them to dabble in side projects up there that are less prone to market corrections like they got burned on in Glendale during the GFC.
Bidwill making a smart business move...

that is an excellent location.
Mike should consider keeping 120 acres or so free...just in case they want a new stadium in a few years....
Scottsdale and 101 is a much better location than the Glendale site...closer to most of the players homes too Im sure.
Yeah...this is a really good location. Especially if the Bidwill's actually want to expand their business portfolio. There are a lot of ways they can use that acreage to maximize a new stadium (or stadiums).

i can get to it a little quicker than the toaster if the freeways are good - far east valley residents will probably like the change - west siders still get to go to games

3 outside fields tho? in this heat? mikey could put 2 inside - side to side but im guessing it might also serve as a entertainment venue? is mikey a Thunderbird? can you guys tell when im smoking?

Yes, the city of Tempe owns the land and the buildings

It is also about 3 miles from the Scottsdale Airport.

Glad he's took the plunge. I've long said any money invested in Tempe was wasted. There always needed to be a move.

The current site is about 14 acres so the new one will be twice the size.

A nice new facility for a new QB.

I met Ricky Proehl in the parking lot at the Tempe facility. It was brand new then. I think I was dropping off a check for my Cardinals seats. I believe they had an office there you could do that. It was ages ago.
