Let's see if Mat Ishbia has some game. :)

He is listed to play in the 2026 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.

Heh, he's actually the biggest "celebrity" on that roster. Well, maybe except for "Mustard." Pretty much everybody knows and loves mustard.

I'm anxious to see Sham Charania play some basketball.

Shai got injured, so I wonder if that opens up Dillon Brooks to be an all-star. Or maybe Kawhi was SGA's replacement... anyone heard anything?

Jordan Ott was asked about Grayson Allen’s status after last night’s knee injury: “They just got some imaging done. Just evaluating today and we’ll get more news about it. Grayson just kind of stepped on someone’s foot. We’ll hope for the best and we’ll know more soon.”

Question..

During the KD era we were sort of a destination where players wanted to come here. I am not talking big stars but players like Tyus Jones or Eric Gordons types that wanted to come here to get a chance at a ring and score a big contract the next season.

I know the beginning of the year we weren’t expected to do much, but with how we are playing and the culture we are building...

Do you think next season free agents will look at us as that destination spot?

I can see us being a destination for a certain kind of guy, ala Miami. Creating a culture has it's benefits. We shouldn't be saddled with slackers.

I haven't looked at the free agent class but think of guys like Bobby Portis, Jose Alvarado, TJ McConnell, Mikal Bridges, type of hoopers who give 110% every second they can.

What hurts is not having money available but ultimately Ishbia has done right by guys who played hard here like Grayson, Royce, most likely Collin, and Book. Plus look how the fanbase has accepted and elevated Dillon's profile. That has to be attractive to guys willing to work for it.

Before this summer with new GM and HC, Suns were really bad at talent and fit evalution, as witnessed in so many bad trades and signings. Tyus Jones, Gordon, Watanabe, Metu etc. all just considered good by imagination and failed. Or maybe they just didn't meet the right coach in Ott. Ott's system seems to work wonder on all. Never thought Allen would be this good at D and semi reliable as the O initiator. Brooks shined against all odds. Gillespie, Oso, Goodwin also proved their worth in this system. Mark Williams needs to become stronger and prove his durability, and is on the right track. Even Book is a better player except for his bad 3pt shooting.
Only Dunn regressed from last season, maybe due to Ott requiring proper spacing. And Maluach looks still too far behind in development.
For reast of season, hope to get Green back to form and Book improving on 3pts, and we play at least one round good playoff series.

Jordan Ott on what he’s looking for out his group before the All-Star break arrives:“Just stack possessions. Win the possessions. Don’t let any of these opportunities go to waste. We have three left and have three good teams coming here, thankfully we’re at home. We got to play the right way and keep getting better with 30 games left. But really, we just can’t waste any possessions and can’t let any of them go.”

And I love it. The best coaches all seem to stress the importance of EACH possession. It seems like our guys historically have always followed the Eddie Johnson method; if you make two shots in a row you might be hot so test it by forcing a shot up no matter where you are, no matter who is guarding you and without concern for time or score.

Although Eddie was a streak shooter and knew when to turn it on and off.
