1) what year did you graduate?

2) they were more... "infamous", and close friends. but no one you'd want coaching your football team.

1996 and moved straight to the Valley but my girlfriend at the time was a year behind me so I would periodically visit in 97.

He could also interview some experienced OCs that perhaps are looking for work. Seeing that there were 10 HC openings some OCs may be available.
Yes, of course, that is another option. I just think it is very normal that a HC goes with his contacts for coordinator-jobs. Specifically with the Cards it has been that way with all head coaches since Whisenhunt - with Kingsbury being the exception, and I guess that was because he came from the college world.

But yes, certainly it is a possibility that they go with someone they don’t already have a relationship with. I could especially see that being the case if Kubiak or Brady gets the job, since they just don't have a lot of obvious candidates from prior in their careers.

With the candidates that are left (Shula, Lafleur , Kubiak, Brown, Scheelhasse) in the playoffs and jobs available I do feel confident we will get someone good. I assume McDermott and maybeMcCarthy will get one or two of the open positions. I am higher on Burke than I probably should be but I think he would be a good option as well. No need to rush into an agreement with someone like Camponile unless he’s truly your guy.

Brother, can we please just get a coach that has experience winning in the NFL. They might not get us to a Super Bowl but we need someone to steady this ship after failing for 7 years.

McDermott
McCarthy are sitting there.

Pay them what they want and give them some say and get out of the way.

We are seeing young guys not even take interviews here.

Pathetic!

100% agree.

Let's get a proven coach that knows how to set the foundation for a franchise and win consistently.

Once we have that foundation, culture, and consistency - then you can take some chances on first timers.

We keep doing the same stupid ^&$# over and over again.

The Bills were 30-34 in the four seasons before McDermott arrived in Buffalo.

The Cowboys were 40-24(!) in the four seasons before McCarthy arrived in Dallas.

Please don’t pretend that either are turnaround artists.

Your argument is against them saying they aren’t turnaround artists but you want to hire unproven guys to be turn around artists.

Please stop.

They know how to win in the NFL as HCs which unproven talent doesn’t know how to do. JG is the absolute latest example. I don’t want to see this movie again next season.

A culture of preparation and winning needs to be instituted here and our best bet at doing that are McDermott and McCarthy.
