Hello?
Hello John! This is Michael Bidwill. How are you.
Fine Mike. What do you want. I’m very busy.
I just wanted to give you a quick call so we can claim we inquired about hiring you. But you might want rethink this. We are committed in turning..
CLICK.
John? John? Hello?

I’m calling BS.
LOL...the only contact the Cardinals have had is with Harbaugh's agent. From my understanding, these convos go like this. They ask what the top end of the HC salary and staff salary is. Then they state the level of control Harbaugh wants to have, and if the teams are willing to give it. From there, the agent provides that info to Harbaugh who will decide which teams are acceptable and then will have his agent arrange for him to meet with those teams. The best part of Harbaugh being on the market for AZ is that it will hold some teams up to see if they are in the running for him.

Quick question. Does anybody even have VJ in their top 3 choices? I'm guessing he's bottom 3 to almost all.

The guy I'm interested in is LaFleur from the Rams.

Guys I want no part of, VJ, Saleh.

I wish I knew more about Weaver. He seems like a solid choice on the surface.

Yes.

Tomlin gets a lot of hate but in 19 years, he has NEVER had a losing record.

Tom Landry and Bill Belichick are the only other coaches in NFL history that have accomplished this (at least 19 years in a row).

Since 2007 (Tomlin's first year)
Steelers: 1 head coach
Cardinals: 5 head coach's

Steelers: 0 losing seasons
Cardinals: 9 losing seasons

Steelers: 193 Wins (average 10 wins per season)
Cardinals: 140 Wins (average 7 wins per season) *edited

Steelers: 13 playoff appearances and 1 Super Bowl win
Cardinals: 5 playoff appearances

Hell yes I would want Mike Tomlin.
Tomlin has now set an NFL record for coaches with what is now 7 consecutive playoff losses. And none of them have been close. There was a time when the Rooneys were held in high esteem for having had only 3 coaches since the 60’s. Now they look like clowns. Regular season wins are highly inflated when you have had pathetic teams like Cleveland & Cincinnati in your division for so many years.

The Raiders job is just as unappetizing. Good teams don’t generally fire their coaches.

What we’re really saying is we don’t trust Monti and Michaels ability to sell the team to a sophisticated buyer. 40% of all these coaches are gonna be out of a job again within five years. I’m not trying to make a headline in January or February or March (god forbid) with this hire.

It’s also not a zero sum game. There are probably 20 coaches who can do this job acceptably.

It is absolutely just as unappetising. The Raiders job is a stinker, and if a coaches only options are the Cardinals or the Raiders they may well choose the Cards. But that coach is going to be terrible.

Anyone actually good is going to have a number of options in a window with crappy HC options. I'm really not trying to say they can't sell it, but if you're Klint Kubiak, Grant Udinski or John Harbaugh and you have interest from any one or multiple of the Giants, Falcons, Ravens, Titans or even the Dolphins, would you really think the Cards were the better option?

They can sell it all they like, people know what they are buying.

As always, who the new HC brings in as his assistants, particularly the OC, DC and ST guys. Especially if you hire a young, first time HC (most of the time). I think Liam Cohen hired a bunch of really young dudes who turned out to be pretty good but that seems to be an outlier.

My opinion is it doesn't matter here, the Cardinals will either hire the wrong guy (most likely) OR they will hire the right guy and saddle him with bad supporting staff (fairly likely). Either way I see a 5 or 6 win team next year, after all we are in the middle of a 6 year rebuild it appears.

Do you think Kubiak is a guy who could work with Murray if he has to?
Good or bad, I’m the single biggest Kyler fan on this board. That being said, I’m probably not the guy to ask that question lol. With Kubiak being an offensive guy, you would think that a Murray discussion will be first and foremost long before he’s offered the job. Especially with the lack of QB’s available in BOTH FA & the draft. And let’s not kid ourselves, no one is taking this job if they’re told that Brissett is their QB1.

Rich people problems

They have been to the playoffs 5 out of the last 6 years.
Let's get to that level and then bitch about it.
NOPE! You obviously don’t watch Steeler games. Tomlin can’t beat good teams & he routinely gets outcoached by the better coaches. Whatever success he had early on was because he had a first ballot HOF QB & coordinators like Whisenhunt & Arians. And he fired Arians lol.

Do you know what’s scary?
KK gets fired here. He gets an OC job immediately. Now he’s being interviewed for a head coach position.
Gannon gets fired and already is getting interviews for DC and even a head coaching job.

Makes me wonder if these other organizations see something that we didn’t? Were these two guys not given the resources to succeed? Were these a failure here because of a dysfunctional ownership and front office?

It's not Johnny's words, though .. He's just the Messenger.

Understood. Because there’s so little Cardinals content out there, I used to watch Johnny routinely. Him telling us how bad the teams in our division will be every year & his annoying

Understood. As much as I’m always looking for Cardinal content, Johnny just got too annoying for me to watch anymore lol. Got tired of him always saying Stafford is too old, McCaffrey’s career is over, and the Seahawks HC wasn’t special. I’ve never seen anyone be more wrong than poor Johnny lol.
