I’m surprised people are on the JJJ train still. IMO, he’s not worth his contract, not even close. He’s an awful rebounder for his size and he’s a terrible interior scorer.
He’s basically a spot up three point shooter and a guy who chases blocks on the weak side.

If he's a terrible interior scorer, who in your book is a good one, because everytime I see him he is awesome in the post.
I don't think anyone is saying his game is perfect, but for a youngish power forward who is better than him - Paulo, who else? I can't think of anyone.
He is having a down year, if he isn't super happy and Memphis is having second thoughts about his contract that might be precisely why he is available.

He's well below the league average in post shooting percentage. He typically is just a turret, waiting for the ball so he can shoot it.
We just played them and, despite scoring, 19 (on 19 shots), he was basically invisible. He doesn't rebound unless the ball goes straight at him, he makes Ayton seem like a dawg in that department. He doesn't even block like he used to now that Adams isn't there to allow him to roam around chasing them. He can't pass, he fouls a ton.
There is a lot not to like.
And he's basically made zero growth as a player since entering the league. His minor changes in scoring have just been a result of shooting more or less. He entered into the league looking like Serge Ibaka, only with a much higher ceiling and evolved into Serge Ibaka, only bad at rebounding.
He isn't a bad player, but I don't think he's worth his contract, he is a niche guy on a max contract and if we're looking for an upgrade at forward it certainly cannot be a guy who rebounds less than what we've got.

Last year, I had Dunn in the almost untradable camp (meaning, overpay for him or forget it). This year, he's really the only rotation player I don't feel good about right now. Not sure what he could get us but I'd definitely have him (and Richards) in the available camp.

Miles McBride, who I wanted the Suns to draft back in the day, didn't turn the corner until his third season.
I'm not saying it will happen with Dunn, but it's possible.
Defense, speed, basketball IQ and athleticism is often rewarded if a team waits. That said, I'm worried if Maluach will ever get there. I always look for moments where players flash NBA talent. Minimally got to have a high basketball IQ or instincts.

We need to solve our Apron issues one way or the other. Unfortunately, we really don't have a player with trade value that solves our cap problem that I want to see leave. If they can fix our cap without moving Royce, Oso, Collin, Goodwin, Williams, Brooks, Allen, Fleming, Bouyea, Khaman, Green or Booker than great. Otherwise, it seems to me that Dunn and/or Richards gives us our best chance.

Oh I'm not writing him off, I just think we have to make a tough call soon regarding the rotation and the apron. And let's face it, this team has a lot of likable players. I'm just going to be a little perturbed if it's one of Goodwin, Colin or Bouyea that we send away.

The resurgence of O'Neale and Allen, both of their contracts now looking far more favorable, should give us a lot more wiggle room when it comes to retaining the younger guys.
I think Goodwin and Bouyea are still guys who won't see much outside attention. But if Williams and Gillespe keep doing what they're doing, they are going to be pricey. Williams injury history, plus that we don't trust him so far at the end of games and, especially, that he will be a restricted free agent, will lower his demand. Gillespe however, if he hits free agency and some team really takes a fancy to him and has the money, he's going to be hard to keep, they gotta find a number for him before he hits the open market.
I'm not so worried. Let's get Green back first and see what the playoffs look like. Gillespie is not starter level PG yet, several new faces like Spencer and Jerome of Grizz, Rollins of Bucks, etc. are no worse than him. We saw CG became not so stellar against the good defensive teams like OKC and Knicks. If Green and GA stay healty, CG's playing time will drop a lot. So, I see maybe 8-9mil a year for 3 years deal for him.

I absolutely think Gillespie would start on a lot of teams. He's shown himself to be a plus level shooter, passer, playmaker, he's also been surprisingly stout defensively. The fact that good defensive teams like the Knicks and Thunder obviously tried to bother him is a strong testiment to his importance. We also won both games.
Allen has grown on me a lot, but I think he is very expendable, we've played very well during his many absenses.
As for Green, he was fantastisic in his limitted minutes here, but in Houston he played like Kelly Oubre, the bad version. I really need more minutes, he has to get healthy.

IIRC, without looking it up, I think the Suns might be $6 million or so under the first apron. If they could trade trade Richards for a 4/5, it would solves a lot of problems. His $5 million expiring contract should be attractive for a team wanting to save money going forward.
