Credited with developing Jadeveon Clowney and Nnamdi Madubuike. He had numerous players he coached chosen for the Pro Bowl. Coached the Dolphins to the NFL’s 4th ranked defense. He was the Assistant HC of 3 Ravens playoff teams. He was a finalist for AHC of the Year in 2024. Most of those being considered don’t have a bunch of accolades. If you value Campbell’s opinion (he played for Weaver in Baltimore and went to Miami to play for him) Campbell sees Weaver as a transformative leader who brings energy, intelligence, and a clear vision for a dominant defense. I’ll take that.
very interesting! Thank you Harry! I have to say given that information you provided that i am comfortable with him being on this staff. Thank you for the insight!

Can he GM?? lol

I wonder if our next coach sells Monti and Mikey that he can win with Brissett. JB put up crazy good passing numbers without a running game and horrible defense to help him get the ball back.
JB showed that MW is a very good wr and Trey can catch TD passes.
Yes the turn overs were too high but the Oline sucked and Petzing is not a good OC.
If the new HC can get the D to not turtle and fix the Oline then JB might be good enough to get us to the playoffs.
Keep in mind I'm not saying this but the FO could buy this pitch from a HC candidate.
Get ready to duck.

This is crazy. As a group we are never going to agree who our next head coach should be.
I think I want a guy with head coaching experience. Here’s the problem with that. If he was a head coach, he was fired. For one reason or another, he was fired.
Harbaugh, Stefanski, Nagy, McCarthy, Morris, Daboll, Joseph, Saleh all have head coach experience but all have issues we can and will continue to debate.

Offensive or defensive?
I don’t think it matters. I was hooked on an offensive coach but what really matters is his entire staff.

Kubiak is enticing when considering hurting Seattle but is he ready?
Adams is less experienced than Kubiak.
Weaver is interesting.

God lord, what do we do?

Kubiak has been an offensive coordinator for 3 years (including this season) and a passing game coordinator for 2 seasons. Is that enough experience?
I like Weaver but am concerned about his defenses' inconsistency (at least in terms of points allowed).

Personally I mentioned Kubiak about 3-4 weeks ago. I also like ripping him away from the Seahawks. He has an extensive resume in all phases of offense.
But again, he needs to attract a STRONG coaching staff. Can he do that?

With his resume, I'm guessing he has probably has a good network of people to potentially look at for staff positions.

I agree with what you said. Vance has credentials to be given a chance. But please leave my Lord and Savior out of it. Thank you
I thought the "H" alluded to the fact it was a different JC. My bad. (the previous was tongue in cheek. Ill be over here, checking MYSELF)

While I agree I do think the fans helped to influence Mikey Bidwill, M. into firing JG.
I wish our local media would be shouting Harbaugh every day till he is hired by someone if it’s not us.

We have another golden opportunity to get a proven coach and instead we are talking about Matt Nagy.
The whole world could scream for the Cardinals to hire Harbaugh & our cheap ass owner would hire an assistant OL coach lol, just life as a cards fan knowing whom the owner is.

Don't you worry, Bidwill has got this lol, he'll get him at a discounted rate also.

I understand your thinking, Slanidrac. However, obviously not all firings are identical, but even more important, in my mind, is how are they better prepared now? They have all gone through it, and they have obviously all made mistakes (otherwise they would not be fired), so what have they learned?

Weaver is interesting.
I also agree that Weaver is interesting. I think I am starting to be more and more positive about him. After researching him, it is clear that he is a leader of a team and can manage many different characters. He is not necessarily a great playcaller, but he can lead a group. He is a lot like Bruce Arians in that he is a “coach them hard, hug them later”-kind of coach, yet his players would still go to war with him. Also, he has that warm and likeable personality. I cannot completely rule out that Weaver interests me more because I am not exactly blown away with the other options so far.

Allow me to also quickly comment on your later post in this.

I do think that Kubiak could put together a quality staff. Both because he has been in multiple places, but also because he is probably able to draw on his dad’s network.

Wow, that is an interesting list of candidates that the Cards interviewed in the 2023 coaching cycle. I'm sure we will have one similar this year and most teams looking for a HC will also have. Sean Payton and DeMarco Ryans are the winners on that list so far. What a crap shoot this always is. Let's hope we do better this time around.

Is Kubiak like his dad, good coordinator, bad HC?

How bout Kubiack as head coach and Weaver as Def coordinator?

I wouldn't mind Saleh, they had a lot of injuries on D and where still respectful most games. And he doesn't look like a dead man walking on the sidelines.
Living in NY, I wasn't impressed with his time with the Jets. And, I know it wasn't all his fault, but there wasn't anything that makes me say, "Hope the Cardinals can get him."

Dude was 157-82 as a Head Coach...5-2 in the playoffs. What's exactly bad about that? He's probably still coaching if not for health problems.
That's not good enough to coach the Cards . Maybe I was thinking of someone else that struggled as a HC from that era but was a good OC.
