Jake was drafted 29 years ago. We’ve lost one Super Bowl, gone to two NFC Championships, and had a total of 7 winning seasons in that time frame.

That’s pretty bad.
It was a response to pacard, I didn't say it was good, but churning through coaches and qbs got us the opportunity to win it all. Sticking with losing coaching staff for the sake of culture doesn't seem a better approach. If we actually tried and landed Reid or Payton as HC, then I would be happy to let a winning culture develop under their leadership.

Yes, I do believe that everyone was aware that Coen & Johnson were really good at their craft. For one year, the 3-4 year hire & fire coaching carousel has to stop for this franchise.
What about Canales. He was handed a crappy roster and a nutbag owner and the Panthers were in a worst state than the Cards. Yet, we get to watch the Panthers/Rams next Saturday.

Posters have gone over the injured list multiple times. The injuries haven't been horrific the entire season, and we weren't good before we became injury plagued. The talent level of our injured players wasn't anywhere near pro bowl level. So, yeah, the excuse is razor thin.
Stout, living in Chicago I see what’s going on here a lot.
When Ben Johnson came here there was excitement because of what the Lions had been. I can tell you Ben Johnson was very pissy. He pulled the team off the field in mini-camps because they weren’t even close to what they were supposed to be doing.
By years end there were players that came out of nowhere to contribute. Coaching and scheme.
They are far from a polished championship team and I wouldn’t be shocked if they are bounced in the first round. Their defense , although ball hawks, have been vulnerable. But their offense is now damn good.

I can’t stand the thought of another year of “I have to coach them better” and “ Give them credit. They have a good team over there”.

They play in the NFCS, where the division winner was under 500. They didn’t have 30+ players out either. I’m far more concerned about why we can’t keep players healthy than I am about who our HC is.

Yep. 100% on ownership. And what has that ownership done in the 60+ years I’ve followed them? They have hired and fired HC’s EVERY 3-4 years. Not enough people have paid attention to when MOJG were hired & Bidwill CLEARLY stated that he was taking a different path. He tore down the roster to the bare bones & taking steps to OVER TIME, build a franchise that could achieve sustained success. Do I trust Bidwill to keep that promise? Hell no. He’s a Bidwill. But to fire Gannon right now would end that approach & return us back to the Cardinal way of hiring/firing every 3-4 years. An approach that will always fail.

Man I wouldn’t be shocked to see Stefanski brought here as our OC or at the very least Qb coach.
It gives Bidwill an instant interim head coach should things go south early.

He has the reputation of being pretty good with qb’s which would give them a reason to bring Murray back. Draft a qb ( not first pick) that Stefanski can bring along and get ready for if Murray
Comes up short.

Silly comment. If injuries kept players from playing, how would you know what their talent level is? When 90+ players have had to play in one season, not even Vince Lombardi in his prime could succeed.
We weren't getting to the playoffs anyway. Are you actually saying we might have had a bunch of pro bowlers if the kids/roster dregs hadn't gotten injured?

All true, but isn’t Petzing a disciple of Stefanski? If we didn’t like the Petzing offense, would it be much different under Stefanski? The problem in Cleveland was more the ownership & GM than it was Stefanski.

That makes Stefanski the perfect fit , doesn’t it. The Cleveland connection is solid.
I’m not saying this is what we should do but it sure sounds exactly something we would do.

Obviously your opinion. Before the injuries started in August, many people projected this team to win 10 games. We’ll never know now just how good these young players could have been in 2025. The silver lining is that many youngsters that should have been backups played a ton of reps in 2025 & that’s never a bad thing going into 2026.

So Adams and Gaines “ improved”. The problem with that is this organization will point to that and believe they can start next year and the o-line will be fine. Add a RT and we are good to go.

Projected, yes. Hell, I had optimism. It was very, very quickly dowsed by the play on the field. We were not good before the injuries got truly bad.

Sure, it's good that young bucks got some developmental time. Unfortunately, none of them broke out.

Aside from our record, how many here can endorse Gannon as a great, check that, good game manager?

I was close enough.
This is not 3-4 years. You’re objectively wrong. Arians was here for 5; Whis was here for 6. Just own up to it.

You deserve better than Gonti. Respect yourself.

Not only do we need a starting RT, but we need depth there too. And yes, Adams & Gaines did improve. Dump Williams & Brown, keep developing the young guys & draft more OL.

We need to add to this o-line in free agency. There are more than a few guys out there that would help solidify and add to this line.

You obviously haven’t been alive long enough to know the truth. Other than Coryell, old man Bidwill went through coaches like toilet paper. Guys like Arians & Whiz are offset by the 1 year that Wilks was here. You remember Wilks don’t you? When we hired him, you LOVED that decision.

Adams finished the season on PFF at 54th of 80 guards. Dude absolutely has to be replaced.

Yes! We should have MORE short-term coaches.

San Fran went through Tomsula and Chip Kelly in consecutive years after Harbaugh before arriving at Shanahan.

Denver went through four coaches in six years before getting Payton.

Philly blew out Pederson after one bad season following three playoff trips.

There’s a better way. You don’t have to settle for trash football every year. Gonti doesn’t deserve your support; they’ve done nothing to earn it except hold you in contempt.
