If Michael & Monti viewed the potential of this team through the same prism as you do, Gannon would have been fired weeks ago. Look, I don’t trust at all what’s going through Bidwill’s brain. If you go back and analyze the Bidwill firing thought process, they historically almost always fire their HC’s whenever the team is on the threshold of success, but for whatever reasons being (including injuries), they fall back. There are many instances……Charley Winner 60’s, Coryell, Hanifan, Stallings, Tobin, Whisenhunt, Kingsbury. And let’s not kid ourselves, as great as Arians was, another losing season & he would have been fired too. Now, Bill was an absolute prick. He wasn’t even man enough to fire his coaches face to face. He would just change the locks on them. Michael’s firings weren’t as obvious, but no one was surprised when he fired Whiz, Wilks, and Kingsbury. But, with all 3, he never came out weeks in advance giving any assurances that they would be kept on. He has said things that would lead you to believe that he plans on keeping Gannon. But, the Bidwills cannot be trusted in what they might do.
