We should have the 5th pick maybe 4th. I think Ty Simpson will be there with Medoza and Moore being picked ahead of us if both come out. I would start Brissett, pick Simpson and have him learn for a period of time. However I also am assuming and hoping that we have new coaches. Additionally sign OL in free agency and also in the draft.
Hope, hope, hope that Simpson is there AFTER we pick. And, I apologize if you're related to Simpson or his agent.

No longer that high on Simpson after watching yesterday's game against Indiana. Needs to stay in college for another year.
Only if he enters the Portal.

Arch Manning would be the 2nd QB off the board if he was coming out this year. Which is insane when you think about with how badly Arch played the first 7 games.
No, he wouldn't. When he starts completing passes past the LOS then maybe he'll be considered. Most of his passes are swing passes to the sidelines and the receiver gets YAC to make his stats look better.

Manning will be fine next year when he comes out. His progression is starting to show. Mid way through the year, it looked like the switch was starting to flip and he was starting to get it. Moore? He needs to stay in school. Sorry, but just don't see an early 1st round pick in this guy. Way too many check downs. And is it just me or is that Oregon offense not helping him look like he's ready? It really seems Mendoza is the only 1st round QB in the mix this year. Some of the rest have a chance, but really don't see anything special with Moore. Really hoping we don't him with so many good ones lined up for next year. Simpson should be a NO. Maybe Nussmeier in the 3rd.

Chambliss just had a Dwayne Haskins Rose Bowl performance. Way too early to call him a top-5 guy.
Interested to see how he does next game or maybe two. He sure looked good, maybe had a night where he was just locked in. Limited D1 starts but trending the right way. Will see if NCAA gives him another year?

These bowl game performances are going to have little to do with draft status. The scouts already have their evaluations on these guys.

Despite Simosins poor showing, his draft grade is very likely the same as it was going into the game. Where that grade falls is the question.

Agree. The combine might move them up or down a bit.
If we take a qb in this draft he should be ready by 2028.

I dont think Arch is NFL ready, I just think Dante Moore and Ty Simpson are worse.

I think they matter, Cbus. I agree that the scouts have made their evaluations, but coaches and most personnel guys have not started the draft process until now. This might very well be the first time they truly watch these guys. Also, it matters how players perform in the biggest moments on the biggest stages.

Any chance that there is someone like Tyler Shough to be found in the 2nd round?
It might be a good idea to keep up with the Senior Bowl later this January. Sawyer Robertson out of Baylor and Cole Payton out of North Dakota State will play, and both could be interesting day two options. Payton has a ton of talent, but is as raw as they come. Robertson has many of the right traits, but still needs some work with mechanics. Taylen Green is another option. He is built like the perfect quarterback, but has questionable decision making and mental processing. All three can do very well for themselves at the Senior Bowl.

Unfortunately Joey Aguilar out of Tennessee is not playing (he's actually not officially in the draft yet). Could be another interesting mid-round option.
