I respect your view on this PA. If Gannon is retained the entire onus falls on MO. He would have to fill the cupboard with everthing possible to set Gannon up for success. He would have to remove any excuse of failing.

At this point the minimum expectation would be TRIPLE our wins next year. Can that be done with Brissett, a rookie or a FA Qb like Willis?

I don’t trust this organization to really get after it. They move like snails, they’re too conservative and they are bargain hunters. They won’t sign the best O-lineman available in free agency. They’ll sign the 8th best or one coming off an injury or down year.
They won’t bolster the rb room. They will hope ( and try to convince us) that Connor is looking fantastic and Benson is poised for a break out year.

A organization would go out and sign a guy like Breece Hall and if Connor were to return we’d be that much stronger. This would perhaps avoid us depending on Carter or Knight being our starting Rb.

Bottom line whatever they do it won’t be nearly enough to earnestly try to compete.
History would tell us that you’re 100% correct. Only time will tell. I’m getting too damn old to continue the wash, rinse, repeat approach of the last 60+ years.

Easiest way to make the playoffs is win your division. JG has what 4 division wins in three years. This year has clearly demonstrated the galaxy size difference between the Cardinals and rest of the division. Only area where we are leading is at TE. Everything from ownership, front office, coaching and players lags so far behind our division rivals it’s sickening

Just shows him & the staff have done a horrible job with player development. Can also place fault on Monti as well.
I think you’re expecting too much from all our young players. It’s one thing to expect them to have a role & make modest contributions, but with all the injuries, our young team were overwhelmed when new faces were out there every single week. The silver lining of 2025 is that so many guys were forced to play & getting snaps does matter. That’s why I think it’s important to keep Gannon and to see how these young guys do next year.

Monti and JG surely could have/ can be all-in on kyler being the best thing since cake... but that alone is reason enough to can them both.
No. Going 15-32 is reason enough to can them both. If there was only one reason, I think more people would be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt.

But it’s a miserable defense that’s relatively healthy. An offense that sputtered with their top 2 RBs. Wasting 2.5 years of Michael Wilson. Making your defense dependent on Mack Wilson (apparently). Not being able to figure out MHJ.

A team whose plan revolves around a defense dependent on Mack Wilson and on offense dependent on James Connor is a team that plans to fail.

No legit franchise builds around or falls apart based on losing guys of that solid yet very very far from spectacular fashion.

This is a 2 year fix at best.
I think Murray is gone.
I don’t know if Gannon is.
I don’t think this can be fixed in one year.
Even if you could fill the holes, winning coordination takes time.
I believe the Bears were closer than the Cards are and the Bears were lucky.
Best case scenario is they fix the defense (mostly coaching & health).
They also fix the Oline and WRs.
Then they get a miracle QB fix in 2027 and contend for a playoff.
So, yes Bain fits if the Giants lose and Cards trade with Giants.

What's to figure out? He isn't as good as he was advertised.
Maybe. We said similar things about Michael Wilson after a promising rookie season.

You don’t get a mulligan because people liked the draft pick when you made it if it doesn’t work out.

JG has been disadvantaged in every possible way since he got here. A bottom five owner. A rookie GM learning on the job and at best doing a so so job. A wildly inconsistent quarterback who even with a decent roster earlier in his career didn't inspire confidence. All this in one of the best divisions in the NFL.

Is Bidwill really going to open up the checkbook and allow him to hire good coordinators and add top free agents?

Exactly. I wanted to get whatever haul we could get for MHJ and then we'd at least have a few draft picks to grade rather than the one we regret.

The first fix was supposed to be 3yrs meaning 2025, now we need to have a redo on the first go round. Pathetic

Reasons? What reasons are you referring to? Whatever are you implying?

My choice for QB on this team was Lamar Jackson the year we traded up to draft Josh Rosen. So, take any "for...reasons" crap and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.
Don't worry about that DVontel guy. He pretends like he doesn't care for kyler. He really hates when people attack his baby kyler murray

I agree with K-9 that we are facing a 5 year rebuild. I'll very disappointed if they keep JG. He has done nothing over the 3 years to show that he can become a winning coach, in fact it has gotten worse not better this year.
