Funny, going into this year we were coming off an 8 win season with aspirations of a playoff run.
This year suddenly everybody has become an idiot and should all be fired.

When the 49ers won only 6 games everybody pointed out the outlandish amount of injuries and qb problems.

Nearly half our roster is on IR. We have qb problems. Similar but different I guess.

I’m questioning my sanity.

Are you purposely dodging Gannon criticism about why his defense has been on a major down-slope? That is Gannon’s tune. He should get fired for that alone.
Who calls the plays? HC or DC? Wouldn't this be on Rallis?

He knows he can’t answer without including Murray for…reasons.
Reasons? What reasons are you referring to? Whatever are you implying?

My choice for QB on this team was Lamar Jackson the year we traded up to draft Josh Rosen. So, take any "for...reasons" crap and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

Its simple logic at this pt. Keeping Gannon means org has believe that he can get them to 12 or more wins in division to stay competitive. Just the thought is absolutely insanity at this moment but who the heck knows with this team.

Another post where you’re ducking & dodging any criticism about Gannon & his terrible defense. How many is that in a row?

Addressed 5 minutes ago, but thanks?
It wasn’t addressed. You’re now trying to blame it on Rallis.

But if it is on Rallis, wouldn’t it make sense for Gannon to take control of a struggling defense? That would make sense, right?

Does Gannon get any slack for losing Wilson and having a secondary decimated by injuries throughout the year? Also Nolan was supposed to be a plug a play player and filling huge hole. Instead we have McPhister filling in. Just sayin.

Well if your playing chess after losing your queen and both rooks and a bishop it does make it a bit tougher to compete

If Gannon isn't going to make changes with Petzing, why on Earth would we expect him to do anything with Rallis? Before this season the defense was definitely over performing against expectations. My biggest criticism of Gannon has been the same since day 1. I respect his levity and also keeping things like injuries quiet for every player....but I just wish we had the guy who used to outwardly show emotion, confidence and passion.

This entire year has been a dumpster fire when it was looking promising after last season. Where has the offensive line gone? Or the bend-but-don't-break defense? Best players on the defense are really old veterans rather than our younger players. It's a mess. If anyone has the answers to what went wrong that would be great.

Injuries definitely played a part everywhere for this team - offense, defense, and special teams. No one is going to win with a team having 20-30 yards rushing in an entire half and the opposing team just blitzes the hell out of you because they know you're going to pass 90 percent of the time. It's ridiculous.

I don't think blowing out the entire coaching staff and starting over is going to fix all of our problems. We have some talent on this team that needs to get healthy and get playing time next year. Sucks that we lost an entire season of Connor because he isn't getting any younger. He was the true heart of this group coming into this season.

Just shows him & the staff have done a horrible job with player development. Can also place fault on Monti as well.

You are 100% correct. Let's kick him to the curb and start over from scratch like we have always done because that has always worked wonders, right?

Or we can do something we never do and see if the result is any different. What a concept.

This has literally never happened. Kliff was here for five seasons. So was Arians. Whis was here for seven seasons.

Meanwhile, San Francisco got tired of Harbaugh and then went through new head coaches in three successive seasons before landing on Kyle Shanahan. This is the way.

Gannon somehow becoming a head coach who can compete in the NFC West after being an unmitigated disaster (yes last season ended in disaster also) would be the truly unprecedented event.

Yes but the coaching staff had shown success in the past. This is such a bad-faith argument. What has Jonathan Gannon done to earn your loyalty?

If Mack Wilson is the irreplaceable linchpin of a playoff defense you deserve to be fired.

Again, this logic is crazy to me.

MB: “We don’t really believe in you JG. As a result, now we are going to step in and force you to fire this coordinator and that coordinator. We’re now micromanaging and making decisions for you. Also, as a lame duck coach you are now expected to go out there and upgrade your coordinator positions, even though if you don’t make the playoffs this year you and them will be fired, so they must be desperate or stupid. Good luck. You forced us into this impossible predicament.”

When you play the scenario out and say it out loud you realize how ridiculous it is.
I'm not saying I support what I posted, it's just what I believe will happen.

it crossed my mind long ago that this was the plan.
Monti and JG get hired with the mandate to "try like hell to make kyler work"...but if he doesnt work by year three...you can go get your own guy.

something been off with this team since day one..and with kylers comment early on, " I hope Im around to see it"...it makes one think he was perhaps given an ultimatum for this season...playoff win, or you are gone....follow that up with some passive aggressive remarks in the locker room by an introvert QB1...and you have a team that cannot stay focused.

which shows in the fact we were the second least penalized team in 2024...and the eighth most in 2025

add to that the obvious downgrade from Adams to Frye and you have an offense that cannot score and a defense that mails it in because they already know they have no support.

purely speculation that it was the plan...Monti and JG surely could have/ can be all-in on kyler being the best thing since cake... but that alone is reason enough to can them both.

but it fits the bidwill mentality...get me something out of this money I spent already before trying to spend more of my money.

was the coach contract four years? Or five?

quick google search says JG got a five year contract...so he isnt a lame duck HC next season... he still has time to prove he can do it if he gets the right guys in place.
