I've been waiting to talk to my next door neighbor and I finally saw him this afternoon. I've been curious to know if Simpson was going to enter the draft. I figured that it would depend on tonight's game against Oklahoma but my neighbor says it probably won't. Good or bad he's probably coming out for the draft. My neighbor is an assistant coach for Simpson's dad at UT Martin.

I figure he is gonna come out because he will be a 25 year old rookie if he stays….and this year’s quarterback draft is so weak he would be the second or third quarterback off the board depending if Moore comes out

I think things shape up this way. Jets trade with Giants. The Jets take Mendoza. Raiders stay put and take Moore. The Titans come next. They like Ward, so they’ll trade. If the Cards want Simpson, assuming he declares, this pick is their best chance. It’s between them and the Browns. I’m hearing the Saints like Slough and don’t want to give up picks. Most people value the Browns picks more highly as they figure to have a worse record in 2026. Cards would likely have to swap this years picks, add a 2026 first and third (maybe a second). Giving up 2026 picks is unlikely as they need to fix the Oline before Simpson arrives. If the Cards want to pick an RT in second round they must hope Proctor, Goosby or Lomu falls; one should. Any of them would be an upgrade. Some people think the Browns like Sanders enough to not pursue a QB.

get mendoza or a rt and an extra pick - that's where im at - don't get the best available qb when you pick - just get the best qb period - move mountains if you have to

Draft goes like that, I'm probably either trading down again...

or drafting Jeremiyah Love

If I'm right, going by my neighbor's tone, I think he will declare for the draft.

He has the tools and characteristics including size but has lots of potential downside. He will require a top notch organization that knows how to develop QBs. That is not a Bidwill organization. You could do a lot worse than Brissett. Veterans is most proven route to success since moving from STL.
