It seems like one of the issues the minority owners have is what makes Ishbia a good owner. They note that certain decisions by Ishbia are reducing the potential income. They claim that he has “Forgone significant revenue opportunities” in the service of “the Suns fans experience”, with examples like showing the games free on local tv instead of selling to the highest bidder. They are mad that he isn’t milking the fans to help line their pockets.

Interesting. Hope Ish continues this way.

It makes sense they don't like Ishbia as they're the same people who let Sarver run the franchise unrestricted for 2 decades. Ishbia is the opposite of Bobby Banker.

Furthermore, as I understand it, all of these people were offered the opportunity to sell at the price Ishbia bought in at, and they all passed on it, thinking that they could just sit on a golden goose.

Like Sarver, they just wanted the money to roll in without the slightest continued investment.

Ishbia has some serious question marks on the basketball operations side, but as an owner who is committed to the fans, he's been stellar.

Well worth the read. I hope he keeps that mindset.

Right from the start he hits on some major points of contention over his tenure.

Okay, so you said that your fingerprints are on it more now than before — on decision-making?" Mat Ishbia: "100%. I’m involved with every detail. And that was the change. I told myself this summer: I did a bad job. I didn’t define the identity of the Phoenix Suns. I just kind of came in and said, ‘Let’s go over the luxury tax. Let’s make a trade.’ There were certain players I didn’t like — and now, I’m involved with those details, to the fullest extent. For better or for worse. But I’ve got a great GM — obviously — and a great coach and a great front office. But I’m involved. I’m not just writing a check anymore."

Of course people got mad it didn't work out. I look at it as if he was the guy that bought a Lambo for the first time and gets a couple big speeding tickets. He wanted to see what he could do. He found out he wasn't as badass as he thought he was. Lesson learned.

Going to games, it's hard to express how much more enjoyable this team is compared to the last few seasons.

I've given Ishbia a lot of ish, not a fan of his first few years, lots of moves I hated. He cans everyone, I wasn't wild about the front office moves or what we did in the off season. When they talked about "alignment" I felt like it basically meant "you know Ishibia or attended Michigan State".

But the vision they expressed is what we're seeing. These guys bust their asses, from Booker to Brooks to Boo'Yeah.

They're a blast to watch. A connected team with a ton of personality.

Also... fudge the lakers.

My son was telling us about that before they showed it on the game last night. I guess some fans really like that $2 menu! LOL. I should write him, because a long time ago they had Jose Cuervo slushy margarita machines in the stadium, and those were REALLY good. I'd personally like to see if he could make those return! LOL!

If you were a season ticket holder you’d love it to.

He's done even better, he's built a team that doesn't require drinking to watch.
