I'm glad you noticed.
Gillespie does a lot of the smaller things, that turn into bigger things, that make a difference.

Gillespie is only on a 1-year contract with the Suns, but they own his early bird rights.
Wouldn't it have been the smart and wise thing to do, to sign him to a multi-year contract last season while he was on a two-way contract or even this season?
