Jalen Green getting “healthy” has killed this team.

He’s not a bad guy, from what I can tell, but he contribute’s nothing to winning NBA basketball.
Jalen Green hasn’t helped, but Dillon Brooks getting injured is what killed this team.

There’s no dog in this team’s fight anymore and Booker has gone back to being the most unreliable 4th quarter “superstar” in the league.

Brooks getting hurt, at the same time as Green getting healthy is has been a real see-saw for this team.

Brooks had a fair amount of awful shooting games, trying to be a hero, but he brought the intensity in every other aspect... and occasionally he was pretty good on offense.

Green is just a mess. He's trying to do way too much. I was hopeful that Booker coming back would get him to play more in the flow of the offense, and, he has cut down on his awful iso possessions somewhat, however, we're just way better when he's on the bench. He doesn't defend well, he doesn't pass at all... and even if he isn't dribbling the clock to death, he just doesn't play within the offensive system that made this team hum for the first few months.

Brooks being hurt certainly had an impact… But I just can’t get onboard with the thought that Brooks is a direct link to success… or, at least real, meaningful success.
He’s never proven to be a reliable leader and the sorta player a team can use as a lynchpin to sustained success. So for me, I would need to see a ton more to prove to me he is that guy.
What hurts this team more IMHO, is:

- Lack of a legit big man who can be a physical force, while also a reliable 18ppg+ scorer.

- Green plays 36 mins and has just 2 assists… He still needs to develop.

- Who is our consistent, scoring and rebounding wing man?

- Our bench is still not nearly good enough. Gillespie is a keeper, but Allen is not. I’m almost at the point of giving up on Dunn. Oso is getting far too much play. Fleming excites me.

I think your wrong, Dillon took this young team and won . Dunn is playing better, Cinderella team I still believe

Jalen Green was not the problem in this game. In fact I think he led us in 4th quarter scoring.

The problem is Booker. He had 2 or 3 good open 15 footers that he simply straight up missed. We are still getting way to bogged down setting him up off screens trying to get a favorable matchup. It's just wasting too much time, because he still ends up getting doubled and puts up a bad shot - or misses a good one. He is just way underperforming his salary most games.

I think we legitimately would be better not trying to get him the ball in the 4th.

You’re never going to get some people to say a bad word about Booker.

Problem is with Book and Green out there, you have two guys running the show and neither of them have high basketball IQs. The incredible ball movement we saw earlier in the season has devolved into those guys just taking turns and the team looking more and more like the KD/Booker Suns, except they don’t even have a floor raiser like KD.

And we’re back to absolutely ZERO identity. Which is what we’ve often been the majority of Booker’s time here outside CP3’s leadership and Brooks’ surprising effect on the team the first half of the season.

While you might be right about this game, Green's free throw shooting (along with Oso) was horrible.

Yeah, didn't Green miss both...twice!

I don't even want to replay it in my mind.

Those missed free throws didn't have any rotation to give them a chance to fall. It seems like a fixable problem where Ighodaro's outside shot and free throws look so awkward.

Agree 100%. When we had success while he was injured earlier in the season it was because the ball was MOVIN’! We lose that to a degree when we hunt matchups with Booker.
