I really think they hoped he'd be ready to go after the bye...or maybe they are indeed preparing to say bye.
That is the thing about this organization, they provide the bare minimum that we are relying on outside doctors to help us understand the injuries. They keep saying a foot sprain, so who really knows.

Did you know there are over 100 ligament in the human foot that can be sprained?

I've strained all 100 ligaments in my feet watching Kyler play.
What did the Pink Panther say when he tried to step on Kyler?

Like Prudy, who has been practicing with the same injury and not playing! You crack up! :lmao:
You just gonna keep saying they have the same injury without any reporting to back that up? Purdy has been dealing with a toe injury all season. There’s been nothing confirming yhat I’ve seen that says Kyler had a toe issue.

Purdy’s injury was reported as turf toe. If Murray has Lisfranc I’m surprised it wouldn’t be announced that way. It’s a common injury Pujols had it most of his career. You can play with it, but I wouldn’t think he’d push it in practice as it’s easy to aggravate. I’d be surprised they’d predict him to start as that injury is notoriously unpredictable.

And if it is Lisfranc and not turf toe for Kyler, it's actually worse and it will eventually most likely require surgery to ensure it heals and doesn't stay unpredictable. Both suck and neither are ideal for mobile QBs. Either way, they both impact the ability to run plant to throw. The video i posted by the actual MD believes it's either of the two.

For a stable Lisfranc injury, treatment begins with a period of immobilization either in a removable boot or frequently a cast that includes the foot and the leg below the knee (a short leg cast). This typically lasts 6 to 8 weeks with the patient using crutches and not allowed to put weight on the injured extremity. At the same time, it is important to elevate the injured leg to decrease the swelling and therefore the pain from the injury. Icing the foot can be done also for pain and swelling if a boot is used and direct access to the foot is possible. Pain medications, usually in the form of anti-inflammatories, are also taken. In the case of a more minor injury, the duration of limited weight-bearing and immobilization may be shortened at the treating physician’s discretion

You could see when Albert Pujols started to struggle with foot problems. His first 6 years in St. Louis were as good as any hitter in MLB history. Around 2008, he started to hobble and wasn’t quite the same player. Still had awesome power, but the athleticism he showed early in his career was gone.

The treatment for Lisfranc is a boot or rest and ice. Not practice.
