Im upset at Monti too, but it could very well be JG just picked the wrong coaches to develop these players.
Anybody else want to trade Murray after the season and get Mac jones? He is doing it over there without elite weaponry….and knows the division….would you rather grab Mac and go with the Gilbert Arizona native out of Utah at offensive tackle…or go with a rookie qb?

Yes. Let's offload the dynamic and talented Kyler Murray, sign a failed former 1st round pick currently playing in "the most QB friendly offense in NFL history" and put him into this **** show of an offense. We'll then commence our 2026 superbowl run. That sounds like a super smart idea Britcard.

Gentlemen, I know the passing numbers last night were sexy, intoxicating even, but let's keep our wits about us, okay?

Can we stop with the "dynamic and talented" BS?

Kyler hasn't been dynamic or talented since 2021.

And it's not about numbers. I saw Mac Jones hit his receivers on time and with accuracy, something I haven't seen Kyler do consistently in a long time.

If he wasn't such a massive virgin then yes.

Kyle coaches QBs hard.

I think this needs more scrutiny as well. Not just for Kyler, but in how Tune never seemed to get better in 3 years.
He had no real QB coaching experience.

Cleveland Browns

In 2021, Woolfork joined the Cleveland Browns under the Bill Walsh NFL diversity coaching fellowship. In 2022, Woolfork rejoined the Browns under the Bill Willis coaching fellowship.[1][2]

Arizona Cardinals

On February 21, 2023, Woolfork was hired by the Arizona Cardinals as their quarterbacks coach under head coach Jonathan Gannon.[3]
edit: He did assist Drew the year Watson was awful and Brissett was decent
Woolfork came to the Cardinals from Cleveland where he assisted Browns quarterbacks in 2022 under current Cardinals offensive coordinator Drew Petzing. He spent the 2022 season with Cleveland as the recipient of the team's Bill Willis Coaching Fellowship.

How many catches did McBride have? But Kyler can't hit receivers.

He can't. McBride runs shallow crossers. Finds a hole in a zone at 6 yards and sits staring at Kyler. Kyler him in the flat leaking out or on a TE screens. Occasionally he'll hit him on a deep over.

He just can't throw digs, outs, comebacks, back shoulders or any kind of route that requires timing with consistency so our WR's are running routes where timing doesn't matter so much and they can adjust to the ball. This is the reason our WR's get so little play.

in total whiner fashion i could see purdy getting outplayed and benched in frisco due their unknown phenomenon of finding playoff caliber qbs in garbage dumps
I mean, he WAS a high first-round pick, and it seems likely that when the 49ers traded 3 first round picks to move up in the first round, they were targeting Jones, not Lance. So Shanahan must've always liked how Jones would fit in his system.

If there's one tiny silver lining to Mac Jones playing out of his mind it's that the first interception Purdy throws those knucklehead SF fans will be howling to put in the back-up QB.

Best case scenario is that it turns into a situation that divides the locker room, but I guess that's really too much to hope for.

Except....
The Shanahan system has proven it can strip a QB of his bad habits, get his mechanics and fundamentals back on track, and make him an efficient and productive QB.

Case in point...
Sam Darnold.
Lots of haters here said he only had a good year because of the WR's he had in Minnesota.
But he doesn't have Justin Jefferson in Seattle...yet, he is still performing miles ahead of any QB we have.
It's not unreasonable to think Mac Jones has had his switch flipped.

I guess, maybe.

But how optimistic are we that bringing in Mac Jones would actually work out for this sad sack franchise? haha :)

We caught lightening in a bottle once with Kurt Warner, but he had HOFers to throw to. Palmer also had enough around him to be successful.

I think the truth is oaken1 that we need to build the o-line some and upgrade the WR room some (I don't know enough about x's and o's to say for sure DP should be replaced) before any QB is going to come in here and have sustained success. just my opinion though.

Thing is,...you build the line so a young QB doesn't get abused...
According to stats these guys are already top 5 in pass pro...
They ain't getting much better in that regard.
