I want to think the extension thing will take care of itself. Meaning:

either Kyler will play top 12 QB football and get into the playoffs and win a game ........ or

we will see the same up and down play (and down at the critical moments) and the team will underachieve. Kyler will become Derek Carr at that point and probably get traded for a song.
Carr signed a third contract with the Raiders

what i was trying to say in my comparison:

the team that stayed with him for multiple years finally concluded that they cant get to where they want to go with him as their QB.

Being the #1 overall pick in the NFL, (and playing QB) were always going to be much better financially both in the short term and long term than being an outfielder in MLB. Who knows how long it would have taken him to get to the major league level. Once you're there, between team control, arbitration years, you're either going to sign a below market deal like Corbin Carroll and hope he pans out, or wait a long time for a big paycheck.

For Kyler and his situation, the financial promise of the NFL vs. MLB was a no brainer.
Not to mention by the time that rookie contract expired any threat of him switching back to baseball was gone

If we are being honest the team was in management turmoil at the time and really didn't want to keep him. They just didn't have viable options at the time...
As is evidenced by Geno Smith being their endgame answer and franchise savior just a couple years later.
A situation I am sure none of us want the Cardinals to be in.

You're missing the entire point. If he didn't want to take NFL as thr OP claimed, then we would have taken the easy MLB money. That's why I used Andrew Luck and him giving up $500 million because he no longer want to get hit. Kyler has already made $32 million more than Luck in his career. If he were afraid of hitting hit, then why wouldn't he retire.

Again, this is about getting hit and nothing else.

almost sounds like he knows he made the 53 this year
Or, he knows he is getting cut so why not speak his mind.

A guy who knows he will be on a roster probably doesn't go into a tirade about how coaches don't have the right to tell a RB he hit the wrong hole because all they do is sit in a dark room and overanalyze film

It's in the article...when he is recounting advice he got from Dalvin Cook in regards to keeping his confidence high...
Not a good perspective for a bubble guy thinking he knows better than his coaches.

It's very similar to when Josh Rosen latched on to what Aaron Rodgers told him about the coaches not feeling the flow of the game like the QB does so he should change the plays at the line to what he thinks will work best. It didn't work out for Rosen and it won't work out for Carter either.
In the nfl a first round QB will get way more chances than any runningback

It’s paywalled unfortunately, can’t see it. What did he say about KM?

He was defending Kyler for the trashing he has taken over Call of Duty.
With all the content of the article...he either knows he is gone..or he believes Kyler will protect him either way.

He absolutely took the harder path. I don't see how this is debatable. QB in the NFL is the hardest thing to play in pro sports.

He was so good at baseball, the league that hates changing anything, changed the rules just praying he came to them.

But the 40mil guaranteed rookie contract in the nfl was way more than he was gonna make in his first few years in MLB.
Guaranteed.
Add in the nearly automatic extension after year three and the signing bonus that comes with it...
No way he makes that amount in that time frame in MLB.
Years later? Sure.
But not in the first 4/5 years
