I went to see this again with my other daughter. Man, it's even worse the second time around. Again, loved the actors and had all the makings of a great movie but just was decent if not disappointing. Anything but great. There was just so much STOOOOOOPID in this script. Aside from the stuff I already posted:

Two things that really bugged me more after the 2nd viewing. Lex basically kidnaps so many people that he has to have a pocket dimension. All these people have ties to Lex, they call keep disappearing and nobody bats an eye.

What is more egregious? The entire Lex calling out his video game moves to fight Superman. Let me get this straight. Superman who is faster than a speeding bullet, was defeated by Lex manually relaying moves that would be significantly slower than Superman making counter moves in a fight? Really? We have software, hardware, AI that came make lightning quick decisions. It could have been programmed into the suit or whatever but Lex having to take time to decide which move, calling out a number, then relaying it was nothing more than giving Lex something to do in the script. Sooooooo dumb.

This was clearly inferior to Man of Steel for me. Corenswet was well cast which is half the battle and the scenes with him and Lois were the best but everything else was cartoonish and silly. My dream idea for Superman after Reeve is Cavill with a better script.
Even though the Snyderverse was mostly garbage, I have to agree in terms of 2/3 of the Man of Steel being better than this movie.

That is a fantastic point and really layers on the Mr. Terrific can't figure out the villian issue.

Superman hasn't been out long enough for legit reviews to balance out the paid reviews.

Gonna be 6 months before those numbers mean anything

Notice I did say 2/3 of the movie. The last ACT I had an issue with and from many that I talked to that brought the overall rating of the movie down for them as well.

It's been out a little over two weeks, has remained relatively steady, and has most of the reviews it's going to get. If it goes down, it won't go anywhere near as low as Man of Steel.

You really can't trust RT ratings anymore, especially when it's still in the theaters. They've had their thumb on the scale way too much. They've been caught manipulating way too many times. @PDXChris has posted about it a few times too.

I would think that would hold more true for critics than for audience scores. I suspect that Gunn's lighter touch appealed to more people. I know it did to me. I never liked the post Reeve "angry Superman."

Naw man...you can buy customer reviews too.
Amazon banned a few dozen writers a couple years back for buying reviews...it's been a pretty common practice for about a decade even if it is frowned upon.

Those numbers don’t mean anything and neither do most reviews. Even the Grammy’s are cooked.

It's also that they hold back updating the audience score and for somethings have even reset the audience score because it was to low. Then once it's past its theater window started updating again. It be studio owned is not good for the site's integrity either. It could be legit for Superman, I'm talking in general on what's been seen in recent years.

Just watched this on HBO. Not good. Maybe I just don’t like Gunn’s style, though I loved Guardians. Definitely agree with everyone who says Man of Steel was better. Too many plot holes and it was just too silly.

Man, I just cannot agree with people putting man of steel over this movie. This one wasn't great but Man of Steel was freaking terrible and that character is about a million miles off the mark trying to depict superman.

Henry Cavill version of "Superman " was a thousand times more accurate than this dweeb Gunn came up with....
The character in guns movie is maybe,..."Superguy"... or, "Superdude" ...
But he isn't Superman by any stretch of the imagination...

Interdimimensional monster destroying the city!!
"OH, I'll just stay here and argue with my girlfriend...those guys got this!"

Yeah....no. just, No. That's not Superman

No... absolutely not.

The Snyder superman dodges gas tankers that are thrown at buildings, then poses cool while dozens die behind him.

The Snyder superman tosses his indestructible enemy through buildings filled with thousands of people.

The Snyder superman watches his adoptive dad die, while his dad poses like an idiot.

The Snyder superman shows a barely disguised utter contempt whenever he interacts with humans that are not either his family or Lois Lane.

He is freaking terrible and it is unlike any depiction of superman.

He basically isn't superman, he is a creation of Zach Snyder's who wears the suit.

Oh, he also "gets his power from the atmosphere", again, not superman, in one movie... then heals from the sun while floating in space in another.

Well, more accurate until the last 3rd of the movie where he was responsible for killing a crapload of people... But yeah, more accurate.
