Fleming was lost but he is going to be good. Maluach needs to play in the G League
Have you watched most backup centers in the league? He is already on par with many of them. What he needs is 20 minutes a night against NBA players.

It's not like Nick Richards is a big upgrade over what he can currently do, and this Suns team will not compete for the playoffs. The best thing we can do this year is develop our young players.

I didn't see the quickness though compared to a player like Alex Sarr.

Basketball IQ and experience can help with that to some degree.
Yeah, he's not as quick as Sarr.

Jokic and Embid aren't quick either though. That is not a requirement to be a dominant center in this league.

Jokic and Embiid are very high IQ basketball players, which gives me hope for Khaman who seems to fit into this category.

However, I was hoping he was further along being drafted at #10, even though he is young.

I agree with you there. The other best thing we can do is move as much of the useless vets like Allen, O' Neale, Beal (if/when possible), etc. for any kind of future draft capital, developable youngers, and so on.

Yeah, well I am pretty sure they have been trying to do that, but nobody want's to give up anything for them - because they are all over paid for the weak production they delivered last year.

Best we can hope for is that Grayson and maybe even O'neal (although I doubt it) will play well enough to start the season there will be somebody who wants them by the deadline.

Brea is the surprise for me so far. I was listening to the morning guys and they said some had him rated number #1 in the draft for shot mechanics.

I think Wednesday's is for sure. They broadcast the NBA TV feed.

Yes, I checked my DirecTV guide and the game on Wednesday is scheduled to be televised at 2PM Arizona time on AzFamily.

I could see that. Other teams that were in the position the suns believed themselves to be in when they acquired O’Neil.

Which is what I expected of multi-year veterans and an 18 year rookie.

I was hoping Khaman would compete with Richards for the backup center position and perhaps secure it this season.

He will or should. I think Richards value is over inflated as he was basically one of the only bigs we had last year. I suspect we'll see Oso and Khamen battling for the backup role by the trade deadline with Richards being more of an insurance policy in case Williams can't stay healthy.

If this proves to be the case, Khaman may be only one injury away from starting sometime this season.

I like Richards as an insurance policy because of this. Don't see Oso as being a full-time starter.

Also, I should add, we might see Fleming at forward/center.

I think Khamen should have the backup role all season, unless he earns the main job. Using Richards as sort of even a Biyombo who either starts or doesn't play is better than shuffling the rotation regularly. That lets Maluach learn and develop at a steady pace and take the next step when he's ready.

We'll see what happens.

I think we need to get under the apron (cut Beal)so trades are easier

This is my hope and concerns me about his relatively slow start in summer league.

Yes, I know it's not time to be concerned.

However, it got me looking up Mark Eaton who didn't even play in an NBA game until he was 26.

Are you kidding? He has the backup spot locked. They are not benching the only lottery pick they are going to get for the next 6 years.

Besides I would bet Richards is traded before the season starts still.

Especially if the Suns need the $5 million to help with the second tax apron. I guess they would have to take salary back though as it stands now.
